Introduction

The 3.4 has future investment written all over it when compared to the prices 3.8 models are getting right now.
As we all know, prices have skyrocketed for original 3.8 models over the last couple of years. We also all know that 2.4 versions are lovely cars but they are just too under-powered, and as such are a little unloved. However, the 3.4 is no slouch and some argue is the sweet spot of the model range. So with properly sorted and original 3.8 versions going for anything between £30k and £50k right now, then the 3.4 certainly has gold status investment written all over it. Together with actually buying something that's beautiful, stunning and drives exceptionally well. Could the 3.4 be the smartest classic Jaguar buy right now?
In our opinion, this example is the one to have - it's not rotten like a lot of other sub £20k cars on the market right now. It has all the right ingredients, i.e. excellent condition, rot free body, period colour, preserved originality and of course that all important 3.4 with manual / overdrive. The icing on the cake is this car is fresh from a private collector that has been meticulous from purchase through to maintenance.
With mountains of service history collected over the years, we know this example has been cared for and Dean has made sure it drives as good as it looks.

Hi Dean. Is the paint original or has she been repainted. If so when. I also saw in the film some corrosion under the driver door Perhaps the film exaggerated this? Can you give an honest assessment please. Thanks
Hi Paul, Yes it’s been resprayed to a high standard around 10 years ago. There isn’t any rust coming through to the outside, but a small amount as you’ve seen in the video. Dean
Hi Dav I don’t find it a problem , once you’re up and running the steering feels great. I’d say it feels better at speed than The old-fashioned power steering I have on some other Jaguars. I hope that helps Dean

Does the car have power steering?
Dean, is delivery to Germany possible? Otherwise, when I pick up the car in person in Cornwall, can I drive it on its own axle back to Germany?
Hello Hanfried if you would like a cost for delivery then have a chat with the guys at tradeclassics they can organise this for you . Regarding driving the mk2 to Germany can’t see why not it’s never let me down regards Dean
Hi Graham the mk2 has been on the road since I have owned it which is around 7 years . It was in long term storage before that . I have changed both front and rear screen rubbers . The rear parcel shelf is not damp . The wood capping has wear but is original which I personally like as are the door rubbers . It’s is a lovely original mk2 that has never been welded and drives great hope that helps regards Dean
Hi Dean. Really nice looking car. Jaguar man myself.. Has the car been off the road for some time. If so how long? Also would it benefit from all new door and screen rubbers? Difficult to see on the video, but was / is there damp below the rear windscreen? Also has the front wood veneer suffered a little from damp over time? Thanks. Graham
