Introduction

Jacob Boodrie
Professional Consigner

There are plenty of fast supercars available, but few get you close to the Formula One experience - this F430 will not disappoint.

The Ferrari 430 (Type F131) was produced from 2004 to 2009 as the successor to the Ferrari 360 with notable exterior and performance changes. The new body shape on the 430 majorly improved the aerodynamic efficiency, with much better downforce.

The large front bumper openings have subtle hints to its Ferrari racing past from the '60s models, specifically the 156 "shark nose" F1 car.

The completely new and mighty 4.3L V8 from the Ferrari-Maserati F136 family was introduced with the F430, producing 483bhp and a top speed of 196mph. The F430 could move from 0 to 60 in a mouth dropping 3.6s. That's 0.6s faster than its predecessor.

This particular example has been fantastically maintained, if you're in the market for one of the best F430s around at sensible money then this is the car for you.

This auction listing was written from information supplied by Jacob after meeting Alan the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Exterior

A beautifully revised curvaceous body shape designed by Pininfarina in collaboration with Frank Stephenson, its stunning form follows its function.

Wheels and Tyres

The Ferrari F430 5 twin-spoke silver 19" alloy wheels really make the car stand out on the roads - especially one in condition.

The alloys were refurbished in 2017, and each one looks to be in excellent condition, if we're being exceptionally picky, we noticed a very small amount of bubbling and scuff on the O/S front wheel, but you'll have to get really close to notice it.

Each wheel is wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza rubber dated 2016/2018, with plenty of tread on each wheel for the new owner to enjoy straight away.

Please view the images for a closer look at the wheels.

Bodywork

Despite sharing the same basic Alcoa Aluminium chassis, roof line, doors, and glass, the car looks significantly different to the 360. The newly revised body shape has greatly improved aerodynamic efficiency and downforce, perfect for track days or sweeping European roads.

Inline with the rest of the car, and as you'd expect, the bodywork is in really excellent condition. There is a very small hairline scratch on the rear bumper - hardly noticeable.

Please review all the images and videos to view the bodywork in great detail.

Paint

Finished in Nero Daytona metallic black the car looks elegant and timeless, without screaming race car until you hear it go past.

The paint looks even in finish and colour across each panel and nicely in line with its mileage and age.

Please take a look at the images and videos for a closer view.

Glass and Trim

The glass and trim across the whole car looks in excellent original condition with no issues; as you would expect.

Please take a look at this F430 images and videos to see how well it's been maintained over its short life.

Interior

A performance-focused interior - Bourdeaux Daytona seats and carbon interior feels as luxurious as it looks.

Seats and Carpets

Nothing but the finest racing Daytona style seats finished in Bordeaux leather and matching stitching are found in this cockpit. Each seat is in excellent condition and looks to be in line with its mileage, as you would expect.

The Nero black carpets are luxuriously rich and have a deep pile, Alan has fitted a rubber mat in the driver's side to keep the carpet in excellent condition - a small nod to how fastidious he's been.

Please take a look through the photos and videos to view the carpets and seats in more detail.

Dashboard

A very racing focused dash with clear information sits in front of you. All the dials and dashboard are in excellent condition.

The limits at which you can push this car are mindblowing. 10,000 rpm limit and a top speed of 196mph.

Please view the images for a closer view of the interior and dashboard.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A minimal and performance-focused steering wheel with shift paddles puts you in full control of this metallic black stallion.

The steering wheel features an engine start button and various driving modes toggle switch, familiar to anyone that's been inside a Ferrari cabin before.

Please view the images to see in more detail.

Mechanics

A roaring 4.3L 483bhp V8 is the beating heart of this stallion, a racing thoroughbred designed to overtake anything in its way.

Engine and Gearbox

Featuring a 4,308CC V8 engine from the Ferrari-Maserati F136 family. This is a completely new powerplant which was a significant change for Ferrari as the previous V8s were descendants of the '50s Dino racing program.

A new body called for a new engine, and the fifty-year development cycle of the previous V8 was entirely replaced.

The 430 outputted 483bhp at 8,500rpm and had a top speed of 196mph with a 0-60 speed of 3.6s. These figures are still exceptional, even 13 years on.

Alan has been very meticulous during his few years of ownership, always having it serviced by the same garage each year (M.D. Allen engineering in Norfolk).

Please view the paperwork photos for a detailed view of the servicing.

Suspension and Brakes

The car is fitted with red Ferrari brake callipers and was treated to skimmed discs in 2017 - its always had new brake pads when required.

The F430 brakes were developed in close co-operation with Bosch and Brembo to create a new cast-iron alloy for the discs. The new alloy features molybdenum which has a better heat dissipation performance.

Alan assures us the suspension and brakes have always been attended to when required and the car was treated to a full-service last June.

The Drive

The reason you buy the car, for the pure F1 performance that you've always desired.

Various systems taken from Formula cars such as the electronically controlled differential means the F430 has a tremendous amount of traction.

Alan reports excellent handling, speed and a nice ride - very comfortable for long road trips.

The 4.3L engine offers effortless performance from 2000rpm and sounds pretty incredible meanwhile.

Electrics and Other

A whole host of electronic systems are offered in the F430, heated front seats, iPod connection, a navigation system, Bluetooth, anti-theft system, Vodaphone tracker, parking sensors.

Upon our visit, the convertible roof was not fully functional, it was a super cold brisk morning and Alan reports that he will take it into to be looked at straight away and fixed before the new owner takes possession.

History and Paperwork

A stunning and fantastically maintained UK RHD car and if you're in the market for one of the best F430s around - this is the car for you.

There's no need to pay high dealer prices for the F430 of your dreams - this car is exceptional and you'll save a significant amount of money as Alan has been generous with the reserve, meaning the car will sell and the new owner will get an incredible car to enjoy.

One of the most recent bills was for over £9k that included new callipers, oil and water pump assembly and battery. A set of new tyres were also fitted at the end of 2018.

You'll notice some missing stamps in the book, i.e. 2009,10 and 11. However, the car was serviced in those years by HR Owen and there's a letter from them in the media file that supports this. In 2018/19 the car was not used much due to a change in Alan's personal circumstances and was SORN for some of this time. Remember a key benefit of the F430 is it has a timing chain and not belt which simplifies the servicing and of course reduces the cost of ownerhship.

Upon our visit the roof mechanism suffered a small issue and is thought to be due to a micro switch problem. It's a common fault on these cars and easy to remedy - apparently it's most likely due to a lack of use. Alan has already spoken to Emblem and they will fix the issue before the new owner picks up the car. Our usual terms is for winning bidders to pay / collect are within 7 days of auction close. However, the winning bidder may need to be a bit flexible with this purchase to allow time for Alan to book in / fix the issue and get it ready for collection; especially during these times. However, Emblem are aware of the sale and will do their best to book in as a priority job.

When was the clutch done and what’s the current wear ?

I would have thought that was the most important question for me and any other potential buyers as it’s a £4000 expense when it needs replacing
Any dealer or authorized dealer can give you a print off and I would feel more comfortable knowing then I can judge my bid accordingly
Best regards
