Introduction
Glyn Parry
An iconic motor, the 2CV is the definition of economy and convenience that's gained a quirky reputation over time.
The Citroën 2CV was first introduced in 1948 at Paris Mondial de l'Automobile and then manufactured for 42 years. The purpose behind the car was to motorise French farmers who were still using horses and carts. The car featured straightforward metal bodywork, originally corrugated for added strength without weight. Any car that stays in production for nearly half a century has to be an iconic legend, and the 2CV (or tin snail as it's sometimes affectionately known) is up there with the best of them.
Aubrey is a big 2CV fan, he loves working on them and has actually raced a few too. This car he picked up as a light restoration project, but once he gets started, it's hard to stop him and so he's made sure this car has a new lease of life, with some added tricks under the hood too.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Aubrey the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

What confirmatiom of mileage is possible. Many thanks Mark
None whatsoever the car was owned by others for 25 + years before I got it and the speedo is only 999999 miles so could be any mileage if that is relevant to anything with a new chassis, engine etc
A beautiful example of the tin snail, Aubrey.
The text mentions 4 wheels.
Is there a spare?
Hi Neil,
It comes with a matching 5th wheel in the boot along with the jack/ wheel brace.
There is a picture of the spare wheel in the ‘interior’ photographs of it.
Regards,
Glyn
1986 car is 35 years old yet you are saying only 11000 miles? That’s less than 320 miles a year – do you have proof of that mileage being genuine such as garage receipts or MOT’s please?
Thanks
