Introduction
Andrew Taylor
Owners loved their early Elises, so much so that there was demand for a version that kept the raw agility of the original, but added some concessions to daily use - enter the 111S.
The Lotus Elise very quickly become synonymous with raw agility based on low weight and moderate power in the best traditions of the "add lightness" Champman ethos. The original models were almost entirely devoid of refinements that drivers of even the mid 1990's had become accustomed to. Consequently when the Series 2 Elise arrived in 2000, plans were already afoot to address this untapped potential in the Lotus range.
The Elise 111S was Lotus's answer. Still adhering very closely to the track car DNA of the Elise, the 111S added refinements such as carpets, additional sound deadening, central locking and sun visors to the recipe. Air conditioning was even available as an option for goodness sake!
Diehards were still well catered for, however - the venerable VVC K-Series 1.8L powerplant behind the driver's head was good for 156bhp and 0-60mph in a whisker over 5 seconds.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi there,
A few questions about your Elise:
1. Is there a hardtop roof for the car?
2. Any reactions or blistering in the paintwork? By the look of things, the nose cone in particular needs a respray.
3. How does the car drive?
4. Any faults on the car at all?
If there is any further information you can provide it would be very much appreciated.
No hard top included in the sale (though available separately) – no other issues that I’m aware of that you mention but please review the photos and videos to come to own view
