Gracious British styling combined with a sumptuous 4.0L V8, these convertibles make for the perfect cruise.

The XK8 was first launched in 1996 to replace the XJS. Designed by Geoff Lawson it was available in either coupe or convertible form, both offering 2+2 seating. The XK8 came with 18" alloy wheels, an all-leather interior with burr walnut trim. This example is finished in an elegant "Pacific Blue".

This convertible example is coming to market from the trade, having previously been owned for 8 years. With only 2 former keepers and servicing regularly at a specialist Jaguar garage. It would make an ideal weekend car for this summer, and could be a great value steal for someone at auction.

Timeless curves, the XK8 comes from a design era before cars got angry, the body shape is one which has matured over time.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted to this example are Jaguar XK8 Flute style 18" alloys. The alloys appear original to the car and are only showing the slightest signs of curb marks to the outer lip on the front nearside alloy, you'll have to get really close to notice this.

The tyres of choice are Avon ZZ5's which have a good amount of tread still and are all dated 2014. Please take a look through the video and photographic detailed footage to see the wheels and tyres in more detail.

Bodywork

An attractively sleek and curvaceous coupe body shape, in desirable convertible form. After capturing the car in detail within the images and videos, the bodywork appears straight and true, shut lines look even and doors, bonnet, and boot all open and close cleanly and precisely, just as you would expect from a luxurious cruiser.

We did notice some very slight bubbling on the bottom of the back of the offside rear wheel arch. We have taken hi-resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves.

Paint

Finished in a lovely Pacific Blue, the colour really suits the shape and class of this elegant car. The paint looks even in colour and coverage for the age. The front bumper looks to have been repainted at some point, and so in certain light appears a slightly different shade.

We noticed some very slight paint blowing on the drivers door and offside rear arch, where the car may have been repainted in the past. Again, the images taken are from different angles and reflections to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. Please take the time to fully assess the condition.

Glass and Trim

When assessing the car we were impressed by the glass and trim, all the rubbers look in good condition too. Please view all the footage for a closer look. Items like the lenses for the lights all look in good condition too, no signs of obvious fogging were noticed.

Interior

Light grey leather interior against burr walnut trim makes for a very smart cabin in this XK8.

Seats and Carpets

Light grey leather seats, with the leather extending to wrap some other areas of the cabin too. The seats appear to have some minor creases and wear to the bolsters which have been repaired on the driver's side. Both seats have held their shape and look great today.

The carpet is clean and looks to have a deep pile to it. Please take a look at the photos and videos for a closer look at this luxurious cabin space.

Dashboard

Fitted with the classic "Spitfire Wing" walnut burr dashboard. A modern TomTom Sat Nav has replaced Jaguar's outdated system in this car.

The instrument cluster looks in great condition with all the dials and numbers clear and legible. Graham reports all the buttons and gauges are working well on this luxury convertible with no issues to mention.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The walnut veneer touches extended to the steering wheel, continuing on the theme and styling of the cabin.

The walnut look automatic gear selector looks to be in excellent condition and inline with the age and mileage of the car too.

Mechanics

This luxurious convertible is paired with a burbling 4.0L V8 and automatic gearbox.

Engine and Gearbox

The XK8 is fitted with the renowned naturally aspirated 4.0L V8, enough power to get you to your destination at speed. The car will go where you want it to go with smooth automatic gear changes.

The car started the first time in our cold start video which we conducted as a part of the 'On the Road' video - please take a look and also see the engine bay and underneath the car in more detail.

Suspension and Brakes

Graham reports a silky-smooth ride in the XK8 with no unusual noises reported from the suspension or brakes. Take a look at the 'On the Road' video below for a view of the ride and the brakes' prompt stopping power.

The ABS light was present on the first start-up, however, once the car moved the light went out.

The Drive

An ideal cruiser for summer. This car swiftly goes through the gears, offering a classy and elegant ride and not short on power either.

Electrics and Other

Graham reports everything is working as it should. A TomTom has been neatly fitted in the dashboard and full electric heated seats are present and working.

A service book full of specialist Jaguar stamps, this UK RHD convertible could be a good value proposition for some summer fun.
