2008 Aston Martin Vantage N400

This rare Aston Martin Vantage V8 N400 has been cosigned for sale. Only 480 were made (240 coupe’s confirmed, and supposedly 240 convertibles although some say they didn’t produce them all…). The car was made to celebrate the racing success of Aston Martin, and featured some subtle design tweaks but more importantly performance enhancements to the power and handling.

John has owned this car for just over a year, having spotted it in the showroom and falling in love with it there and then. He had originally gone to look at another car but this one caught his eye.

He likes his 2 door sports cars, having previously owned a Jaguar F-Type, but this car isn’t one that his wife enjoys driving that he shares the car with. He says it’s a bit too low for her and with the power, “sometimes it drives her, rather than her driving it”.

His original intention had been to keep the car for a number of years, with it being an N400 limited production run with modifications to improve the performance and handling, but as his wife isn’t driving or enjoying the car it is now going up for sale much sooner than anticipated.

This Vantage is finished in a special edition colour of “Lightning Silver”, with a contrasting black soft-top, and it looks stunning in the summer sun.

Wheels & Tyres
The car is sitting on the original 19″ Aston Martin wheels, and wrapped in Bridgestone tyres all around. They have recently been refurbished in preparation for the sale, and look stunning. Take a look at the images and video.

Bodywork
The bodywork on this car looks really good. The car is around 11 years old now, and all the shut-lines and panel gaps look great, and there was no sign of rust visible when we visited. Take a look at the video review.

Paint
The paintwork on this car really makes it stand out, “Lightning Silver” and “Lightning Quick”! It’s a welcome change from the “gunmetal grey” that you often see them in. Colour and finish of the paint is even, as observed in the photos and video review.

Glass and Trim
All the glass and trim, roof included, are in great condition. The number plate holder on the front of the car has some cracks in it, John has a new one on order from Aston Martin and it will be replaced before sale.

Finished predominantly in black, with contrasting light stitching, a very sporty and smart cabin.

Seats and Carpets
Black perforated leather seats with contrast stitching, and black carpets. All look in superb condition. The drivers seat has some scuffing on the outer lower side, John is planning on getting this repaired. Watch the video to see the detail.

Dashboard
A mixture of leather and metal finish across the dashboard, and a mixture of digital displays and needles on the instruments, it all feels very special. Everything looks in great condition, check out the video review.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick
Again, leather wrapped with some metal thrown in for a sporty finish. All look good, review the images for a close look at the condition.

John took us on a quick drive around the local area, where we could take a few pictures and more importantly, test the car out.

Engine and Gearbox
The 4.3L engine, tuned to give out 400BHP (hence the N400 naming of this run), purred us along. John flicked the gearbox into manual mode and dropped down a couple of gears so we could really hear the engine sing too, very nice. Take a look at the video to see.

Suspension and Brakes
The car performed just as expected. A stiff suspension on the UK roads, but the lovely seats keep you comfortable.

The Drive
We stuck mainly to the local area, but we were still able to get a sense of the acceleration this tuned Vantage has to offer.

Electrics and Other
Everything is working as it should on the car John informs us, and you will see in the exterior review video, the electric roof in action.

The car has a full service history with Aston Martin, a service book full of stamps to show this.

The car is showing just over 21,970 miles as of 08.08.2019.

HPi Check Results
– The car is clear from any insurance write-offs/stolen etc. John has some outstanding finance on the car, that will be settled when the car is sold.

400HP, all to the rear wheels from a powerful V8 engine… that right there is a great combination.

This Vantage is a special edition known as the N400, celebrating Aston Martin’s racing success at the Nürburgring. With only 480 of these cars produced, not only are they more powerful than the stock original, handling updates also improve the performance.
