Introduction
Glyn Parry
Enough torque to plough across any terrain, the Series III is an iconic Land Rover design.
First introduced to the world in 1971, and carrying over from the Series 2 and 2a with a fresh face-lift, the Series III featured a fully synchromesh four-speed gearbox, front-mounted headlights, stylish plastic grille and various mechanical improvements over its predecessors. These classic Land Rovers gained a worldwide reputation for ruggedness and versatility, they were used for both emergency services and for military purposes.
This Series III has seen a restoration and a conversion to a "County Station Wagon", the car receiving a new chassis and paint, as well as attending to any previous corrosion around the car. This example is coming to market from ~3 year ownership, it's a highly practical classic ideal for use on farms and around the countryside, now both MOT and Road Tax exempt.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Geoff the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.
