Introduction
Dom Ginn
With its low slung, sleek body, rounded front and tail - the ‘Duetto’ was born.
The original Alfa Romeo Spider was launched in 1966 as a two-seater, front engine, rear-wheel drive roadster designed by the famous Pininfarina. It was a follow on from its predecessor, the Giulietta Spider. The car made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The new Spider had a price tag similar to the E-type Jaguar in the UK. It was fitted with the revvy 1,570cc twin cam engine, which had twin Weber carburettors, helping the Spider produce an acceptable 108 bhp. With its elegant styling and brilliant handling, the Spider became instantly popular worldwide.
Now it is your chance to see what the fuss was about in 1966 and become the owner of this stunning, restored Duetto. It has been with its owner, Nicholas, for the past five years and was restored seven years ago at a cost of over £32,000.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Nicholas the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi Nick, Please can you confirm what work has been done on the car since you acquired it, in particular servicing/other maintenance? thanks, Rob
I have taken the car to Dave and Ray at Classic Motivations who have serviced the car on annual basis Very little has needed to be done to the car except for the normal oil check etc Since March 2020 I have used the car very little and no service has been carried out. Hope this helps
Many thanks
Hello Nicholas
Can you advise if thou have AR Certificato de Origine for your car
Can you kindly confirm if your car is matching numbers please
Hear soon
Hi
I do not hold the Certificato de Origine and I do not believe that it is a matching number car as the engine was changed to a 1750 cc after it was sold
Nicholas
Kindly advise what was original engine and when was 1750 engine swapped
Hear soon
The car was manufactured with the standard 1600 cc engine and I believe, from information held, that this engine was changed to the current 1750 cc engine during the late 1960s.
Many thanks
