A roaring V8 powerhouse, smart interior details and all wrapped up in truly beautiful design - a great recipe for one of the best mainstream Jaguar's ever built.

The Jaguar XK reflects the classic old school Jag appeal but with an added aggressive edge. The V8 packs a punch, part growl, part mechanical roar, the 5.0 Litre engine really takes the car to the next level with bags of power not often rivalled, even by some more expensive competition.

With great on the road response and handling, the drive is controlled and comfortable, but when needed the sporty bite sets the car apart from the pack.

Truly beautiful design and craftmanship across the bodywork of the car is reflected back in the interior, with detailed contrasting white stitching on the leather dashboard and innovative menu selector appearing from the centre unit, when the driver starts the ignition.

Meet the owner

I just love the design of this car and topped off with an aggressive V8 growl.

Ossie tells us; "I have always owned sports cars, with a particular love for Jaguars. I'm a member of the JEC club and currently I own a V12 series 3 E Type which I've had since 2004".

Ossie goes on to say, "When I initially looked into purchasing this car, I was after a reliable performance sports coupe which I could use on a daily basis and one that came in at a reasonable price. Having looked at both Aston Martin and Maserati, for me the XK was the best value for money comparing age and mileage".

As a Jaguar fan, Ossie lets us know, "I prefer to keep the car in its pure form, so I haven’t completed any major additional works on the car - only changing the rear tyres. The drive is amazing, I normally drive in quiet mode but when the opportunity arises the torque is incredible and creates a fantastic exhaust noise. I rarely use sport mode but when I do its just so much more aggressive".

Finally, Ossie adds, "I absolutely love the classic Ian Callum designed shape, the performance of the car, and plus, you just can't beat that V8 growl! I adore my XK from looks and drive but I've had the opportunity to upgrade to an XKR which I decided to invest in!".

Interesting and edgy, this stunning car is a result of craftsmanship from renowned car designer, Ian Callum - well presented and cared for this XK is a really stylish vehicle with added grunt under the bonnet.

Wheels and Tyres

The wheels on this Jaguar XK look to be in great shape with no obvious scuffs, presenting well on each of the corners. Looking over the tyres on our visit, the tread and tyre wall looked to be in a good visual condition.

Bodywork

The XK is great in appearance and shows that much effort has been put into the car to keep it in top condition. We just noticed a slight ding on the nearside passenger door possibly from another car door, but overall this car presents really well and looks smart.

Paint

Overall the paint on the car looks to be in a good condition, we noticed a few stone chips over the car during our visit with some signs of remedial paintwork actioned in the past.

There was a slight mark on the nearside bonnet section which we also observed.

We have taken hi-resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the paint for yourselves.

Glass and Trim

On our visit we noticed a few slight stone chips across the windscreen and observed some slight lifting on the glass on the rear windscreen of the XK - nothing serious and looks to be in line with the age of the car.

The trim all looked to be in a great condition also.

Overall the appearance of the glass and trim was in keeping with the rest of the car itself.

Interior

Style and design detail is everywhere in this Jaguar's interior - including contrasting white stitch bringing the leather topped dash together - this car has effortless elegance and class.

Seats and Carpets

Entering the car, comfy leather seats secure you into position. A three position electric seat adjuster gives the driver set up options for a comfortable journey. Ossie has let us know that to the best of his knowledge, all the electric functions for the seats and adjustments are working as they should.

We noted no blemishes on the leather on our visit, however we did notice slight scuffing on the drivers seat nearest to the seatbelt where the car has been in use. Please head over to our interior gallery, featured at the base of this listing, for a closer look.

The carpets look good and show very little signs of wear.

Dashboard

Beautifully presented with a leather topped dash, the cabin area of the XK has been well kept. The wood cappings adds an extra level of class to the interior with a white double stitch adding a lovely extra level of detail.

On our visit we noticed no evidence of marks or scuffs on the dashboard itself.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

In line with the rest of the cabin presentation, the steering wheel is in a good condition and showed no obvious signs of cracking or discolouring on our visit.

Ossie lets us know that to the best of his knowledge, all the buttons work as they should on the steering wheel.

Mechanics

The 5.0-litre, automatic, six-speed V8 is something to be truly admired - the engine is eager to be revved - with added bite for when it's needed, but gives you comfortable driving when pootling around.

Engine and Gearbox

As most modern type engines show, the plastic bay top keeps the internals covered up. The engine itself looks to be in great overall condition on initial inspection, no signs of oil leaks were observed on our visit.

An interesting safety feature is the airbag cutout that pops the bonnet up in the event of a front end collision, safeguarding pedestrians and the driver for any windscreen related issues.

Suspension and Brakes

The Jaguar drives as expected with a smooth and comfortable ride helped by the comfy leather seats. There are no knocks or bangs coming from the suspension that we heard through the test drive itself.

The braking is controlled and worked as expected.

The Drive

With no added changes or adjustments made to the car, except a change of rear tyres, this XK is a joy to drive and admire. Looking over the car it really shows the levels of care and attention that have been poured into the Jag.

Smooth and comfortable as you'd imagine the drive to be, but with the added grunt of the V8 giving a really sporty edge to the car that many other car manufacturers would be hard pushed to rival.

Electrics and Other

Ossie confirms, all electrical elements in the car are working as expected with no observed issues during our visit. One thing Ossie did mention is that the air-con probably needs re-gassing.

With a rich amount of paperwork and servicing history its easy to see why this car means so much to its owner.

This Jaguar XK has just 3 registered previous keepers and comes with a great amount of paperwork and evidence of servicing. It looks like the car has been well looked after which is reflected in the levels of care and attention, particularly around servicing and keeping copies of the paperwork to preserve the history behind the car.
