Introduction
Dom Ginn
The Porsche 911 has for many years been an iconic benchmark in sports car performance, with the ~450BHP X50 Pack Turbo only serving to further cement its standing in the sports car hall of fame.
The Porsche 911 Turbo was introduced at the turn of the century in 2000, coming from the factory with a staggering ~420BHP coupled to an all wheel drive system that could reliably and quickly put the power down, as a result of this the Turbo quickly became a popular sports car and had no difficulty in upholding the reputation of the 911. Alongside its performance figures the 911 Turbo benefitted from the comfort and practicality of Porsche's German engineering, making it a well rounded car that could be enjoyed and appreciated by all.
Not only did the turn of the century bring us the Turbo’s improved horsepower and all wheel drive system, but it introduced a complete redesign for the vehicle, with smoother body lines, a longer nose, and a significantly lighter chassis that was 45% stiffer than its predecessor. All of this combined to represent a considerable milestone in Porsche’s history, with some marking the introduction of the 996 Turbo as the beginning of the Porsche everyday supercar age.
This particular car comes to market from ~7.5 year ownership, just 3 former keepers before, and a full service history. Presented in the ever popular colour of "Basalt Black Metallic" with black leather interior, it has had a service ~500 miles ago in February 2021 which included a brake fluid change too. This car is a factory "X50 Pack" which featured K24 turbos and increased the power out-put to ~450BHP. This triple black 996 Turbo presents in excellent condition given the mileage, it's a well cared for example.

Hi Have you had the IMS bearing checked/replaced/upgraded or had any issues with it?
Hi Trevor. I believe you are referring to the issues that plague the naturally aspirated 996’s, my car is a Turbo and so the IMS failures that you see are not an issue on the Turbo’s. This is due to the fact that the Turbos use the Mezger engine as opposed to the M96. There are no IMS bearing issues on the Turbo’s.
Hi Joe, are you putting the car through MOT before auction end? Cheers. GAT
Hi GAT. MoT is recent and valid until 14th August 2023. Thanks
Thanks for letting me know. Could you tell me it’s original reg plate that it will be sold with? Thanks
Sure thing, it’s YF02 ZPZ. Thanks
Cheers Joe. One last thing, is the car now converted back to the stock 4WD or still the aftermarket rear wheel drive setup? Also, why did you converted the custom air intake back to stock recently? That sounded pretty epic from the on-the-road video! Thanks
Yep 4WD now, I thought while I had it on the ramp I’d also put the stock air intake back in so there are less parts for me to hand over when the new owner comes to collect it and as some people may not like the loud wooshing noise with the aftermarket set up. Don’t worry I’ll include the aftermarket air filters and pipe work in the sale so if you prefer the epic wooshing you can easy just swap it back, then the new owner can have the option of both so they can choose. Best of both worlds 😀
Fantastic, that’s brilliant. Many thanks
