Introduction

Paul Wright
Professional Consigner

It’s easy to see why the V8 Vantage is one of the best-selling Astons of all time.

Exclusivity and devastating performance have traditionally been Aston Martin's attributes, but with the brand’s shift into the modern age, the Vantage also brought in a whole new set of dimensions to further the appeal of the brand. As a result, it became one of the best-selling Aston Martins of all time. Originally unveiled as a concept car in 2003, the car attracted plenty of positive feedback, which led to the release of the Vantage in 2005. The elegant-styled aluminium bonded front-mid mounted GT sports car was sold with both V8 and V12 options. Accolades soon followed, which eventually resulted in further evolutions and the development of the car.

Aston Martin produced 24 variants of the Vantage over its course of production, one of which was the Vantage V8 Roadster, the one we have here. At £91,000, over £8,000 more than the coupe, you could get your hands on Aston Martin’s latest roadster. To compensate for the lack of a roof, Aston stiffened up the body with a super-stiff cross member across the bulkhead, and the suspension is slightly stiffer than the coupe. When the roof is down, the car looks completely different, with the speedster-style humps which house the rollover bars, should they be needed in the worst-case scenario.

This stunning low-mileage example has been in current ownership for ~5.5 years. With a desirable colour combination and a fresh service to be actioned by Aston Martin upon successful sale, the Aston is very much ready for its new home.

This listing was written from information supplied by Paul after meeting Terry the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

After wanting to own an Aston Martin for several years, I managed to get this excellent example in 2017.

Terry has tried various performance cars over the years ranging from Porsche to Ferrari, but the Aston Martin was one of those cars he’d always fancied but never gotten around to owning. That was until 2017, when he spotted this stunning 2007 Aston Martin Vantage for sale. The car came from an Aston dealer clearly cherished by previous keepers.

Terry wasted no time in stretching the Aston's legs on a trip to Le Mans. He enjoyed that trip so much, that 3 weeks later, he took the trip again to go to the classic. Since the trip, with a busy schedule, the car hasn’t been getting the use it deserves, as you can see from the MOT history. He now has a motorhome which was purchased during the pandemic, and so future tours to the continent will be in that. Terry will be getting a service actioned by the Aston Martin main dealer should the car sell at auction, and he'll be happy to answer any questions about the car in the comments section below.

Exterior

Titanium silver with a burgundy roof, a fantastic colour combination for this V8 roadster.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19” seven-spoke alloy wheels are in excellent condition, with no scuffs or damage to be seen. The front near-side wheel was refurbished by the Aston dealership prior to Terry taking ownership.

The tyres are matching and have a good amount of tread remaining, having only covered less than ~500 miles. Please see the image gallery to take a closer look at the wheels.

Bodywork

Looking around the shapely curves of the Vantage, it’s easy to see there are no dings or dents to point out, and the shut lines are all matching and even. The convertible roof fits nice and tight, there are no apparent signs of wear, and it opens and closes as it should at the touch of a button.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

Finished in the Aston Martin colour of "Titanium Silver", the Aston presents exceptionally well, and the paintwork is excellent. There are no apparent scratches to mention and just an odd couple of age-related stone chips, but it has to be said these are very minimal and in line with the low mileage this car has covered.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The glass is all in excellent condition, with no obvious scratches or chips which we could see at the time of our visit. The trims and seals are the same, matching the rest of the vehicle.

One of the extras is HID headlights, and the lens covers are free from any damage, just like the fog lights and rear lights.

Interior

The Iron Ore leather interior is a fantastic contrast against the exterior, these roadsters always have a special feel to them.

Seats and Carpets

The leather "Iron Ore" seats are in excellent condition, having only covered ~35,000 miles. The electric side of the seats is all working correctly with no issues to mention.

Like the seats, with such low miles covered, the carpets show no signs of excessive wear. Please see the interior gallery for more detailed images.

Dashboard

Finished with the same stitching and "Iron Ore" leather as the seats, there are no marks or damage to mention on the dashboard. With "Piano Black" veneer, this car doesn't suffer the bleaching you often see on other specs.

The instruments are working as they should, with the odometer displaying a reading of just ~35,178 miles and no warning lights displayed when the engine is running.

Please see the interior gallery for more hi-resolution images.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is in good condition with no signs of excessive wear. Just to the rear are the flappy paddle shifters, which work as they should, changing gear nice and smoothly.

Please see the interior gallery for more detailed images.

Mechanics

What’s not to love about the 4.3L V8 - pushing out ~380BHP is enough to keep you entertained, and it sounds fantastic!

Engine and Gearbox

Once you sit behind the wheel of the Aston, turn the key and wait for the preliminary checks to take place, then push the start button; the V8 fires into life without hesitation. No untoward noises are coming from the 4.3 litre V8, and everything appears to be in good order. Terry will be getting the car serviced at his local Aston Martin main dealer should the car sell on auction.

The car can be used in automatic or via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. When in either mode, the car has a smooth change going up and down the gearbox. Before Terry purchased the car, as can be seen in the invoices, it had a new clutch plate fitted and gearbox serviced, ~4,000 miles ago.

Suspension and Brakes

The Aston sits nicely, and out on the road there are no creaks or bangs coming from either corner of the car.

With 380bhp, you need something substantial to stop you. The brakes are in good order, with no issues reported bringing the car to a halt. There is some wear to the grooved discs, in keeping with the age and mileage of the Vantage.

The Drive

Out on the road, the Vantage looks, sounds and is fantastic to be in. It offers an incredible driving experience in all situations; whether it’s cruising around town, flying down the Motorway or blasting along some B roads, you can rest assured you will be grinning from ear to ear.

Electrics and Other

Terry reports everything in the car to be working just as it should, and the switchgear is all in good condition with no signs of wear.

The car comes with the Aston Martin sat nav, and it also has Bluetooth connectivity to enable your phone connect to the entertainment system. Please see the interior gallery for more detailed images.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market from ~5.5 year ownership, there are a healthy number of service stamps for the Aston, considering it has only covered ~35,178 miles.

The instruction and service books are present, along with some previous invoices for work carried out. One invoice which stands out is for a replacement clutch fitted by Aston Martin at 31,167 miles, just before Terry purchased the car in 2017.

Another essential thing to mention is that Terry will be having a new service carried out by his local Aston Martin main dealer if the car sells on auction, this may of course delay the collection of the vehicle slightly, but worth the wait we think.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

Terry,
Could you please let me know if there is a problem with the dash display. It looks pixilated in your photos.
Has this been looked and have you any idea as to a cost to rectify it ? I noticed that some play on the “inner steering rack joints” has been noted on the MOT for a few years. Has this been looked at and have you any idea as to a cost to rectify ? Lastly does the air conditioning blow cold ? Thank you

Hi Terry
Am I mistaken or has the car not been serviced from 2007 to 2012?
Thank you
