The Aston Martin Vantage is best described as an exclusive sports car with an unmistakable personality that is designed to entice and engineered to excite. The Vantage is synonymous with style, luxury, performance and exclusivity, and this is the reason why Aston Martin is placed at the very top of British automotive craftsmanship. Introduced in 2005, the sports-driving orientated hand-built Vantage has to be considered one of the best-looking cars of the era, complemented by luxurious comfort, a punchy V8 engine and a truly great chassis - it’s now established as one the best modern classics money can buy.

This 2007 Aston Martin Vantage V8 has been exceptionally well kept, with a presentation and servicing record that would place more recent cars to shame. Finished in jet black with a contrasting cream interior furnished in leather, the car has only seen 26,636 over its lifetime and has the benefit of seeing a very recent £4,798 inspection and service. It comes with two keys and has an MOT to May 2024.

Attracted to the sheer beauty of the Vantage and the desire to travel in something unique, Sharon took on the car six years ago and has only added not much more than 4,000 miles to it.

Sharon mostly used the car for leisure - the gradual lack of use is the main reason for its sale.

A tribute to successive owners, the exterior presentation is near-flawless

Wheels and Tyres

The alloys are in good shape, with just minor scuffs noted on the rim of the nearside front.

The car has a full set of Bridgestone Potenza tyres - the front items date from 2022, and the rears are less than 10 years old, but still retain a decent amount of tread.

Bodywork

The structure appears to be solid, with no issues noted underneath the car.

The bodywork looks straight, with no observations of damage, with just a small spot of corrosion noted above the driver's side door handle - we've seen this before on other cars of this age, and likely due to a factory issue whereby the aluminium area was contaminated before paint, e.g. finger print.

The panel fit is flush with even door gaps and all of the doors open and close without any issues.

Paint

The black paint has an excellent lustre and has an even coverage with no significant blemishes, other than a slight flat spot on the edge of the passenger door and light imperfections noted on the tailgate.

The car is free from significant road wear, with no significant chips or scratches, with the exception of a minor mark on the tailgate - it really wouldn’t take much to get this car up to near-perfect condition.

Glass and Trim

The glass is in good shape, with no significant marks with just a little lamination damage observed on the top of the windscreen.

The lights, lenses and trim are all free of issues.

Interior

The deeply inviting cabin is as clean and beautiful as you would hope for.

Seats and Carpets

Other than the expected wear on the driver's seat bolster, the cream leather seats are all in decent shape with a little creasing noted on the leather. The stitching is intact.

The carpets and mats are all in very good condition, with just the driver's mat showing scuffs commensurate with the age of the car.

The boot appears to be hardly used, with nothing more than a little discolouration noted on the parcel shelf.

All of the carpets are dry.

Dashboard

The dashboard is very cleanly presented, with no outstanding damage or wear, with nothing more than light marks on some of the plastics. The leather and stitching are all intact, with the switches and controls all displaying neatly. All of the functions are said to work, including the air-con. The binnacle and dials are in excellent shape.

The door cards are decent, with just some minor marks on the driver's side.

The matching cream headlining is free of any defects.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is in good condition, with no real signs of its age, and the gear lever is similarly intact.

Mechanics

Mechanically sound, with evidence to prove it, the revvy nature of the V8 never fails to impress.

Engine and Gearbox

There were no issues in regards to the cold starting of the engine, with it firing up immediately without any dashboard warning lights remaining on. The engine sounded smooth, with no lumpiness or hesitation as it idled.

The gearbox was demonstrated to perform perfectly, with no issues with engaging its gears.

The clutch is said to operate without any problems.

Suspension and Brakes

The ride on the short drive suggested that the suspension is well up to its task. They have been subjected to, along with the brakes, a recent service check with no reported issues.

The Drive

Despite the Vantage's natural ability as a long-legged cruising car, its engine likes to be worked, as demonstrated by its eager desire to be revved. The delivery of power is ably handled by the stiff chassis, and while we were deprived of experiencing the car's true talent, the docile nature of the car suggests it is easier to live with on a day-to-day basis than one might expect.

On the road, it drove admirably, with no unwanted mechanical noises, with the steering, brakes and suspension free of any problems. Sharon has not reported any engine issues with the car over her period of ownership.

Electrics and Other

As part of its recent £4,798 service and condition check, the whole electrical system was tested. This covered the replacement of the electric seat motor relays and a new battery.

History and Paperwork

A recent service and inspection invoice ensures that this car operates and performs as well as possible.

First registered by main dealer Stratstone Stonegate in July 2007, the car went through a yearly servicing of up to 21,404 miles. Sharon took on the car in 2017 and has only added an additional 5,000 miles since then. It's reassuring to know that the bulk of the invoices are for servicing and nothing to pertain to mechanical maladies.

Its gentle use over the last six years has culminated in a servicing and inspection by specialist Trinity Engineering for £4,798 in May 2023, which ensures that the car performs and operates as well as it did when it left the factory. An MOT was added to the car at the same time and it also comes with both keys.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.
