Introduction
Colin Bashford
A superb SC in a period colour with a top end engine rebuild and having been subtly tweaked by its owner over a ten year period.
Launched in 1978, the SC (Super Carrera) replaced the previous Carrera 3.0 model and it features a lighter aluminium engine initially producing ~180bhp. Later models, like the one offered here, benefited from a power hike up to ~201bhp. Production of the SC ran until 1983 with its replacement, the Carrera 3.2, subsequently launched in 1984.
This particular SC is a 1982 model and comes to market after ~10 years ownership with Andy - he has made a few subtle tweaks as some of you eagle-eyed 911 fanatics would have already seen. Andy has done a lot of work to the car himself including changing the engine lid to a cleaner chrome grille version without the 'whale tail'.
Don't worry though, after replacing various parts of the car including door handles and headlight surrounds, Andy has kept all the original parts, including the whale tail, which will be sold with the car.
The SC comes with a fresh MOT valid until 30.07.2024.
This listing was written from information supplied by Colin after meeting Andy the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

SUNROOF LEAKING?
Hi yes both electric seats work and there’s no tear in the parcel shelf, the area I think you are speaking about is possibly for a seat belt fixing. There is one and the same place on the other side. Before my time
Andy
do the electric seats work and is that a tear in rear parcel shelf
cheers Larry

Lovely car. I have a few questions>>>
I’m trying to understand the service history. No service history since 2001?
No oil changes, filters?
Has there been a cam-belt change? Was this in 2014?
No service history since the top-end rebuild either? I know the mileage is low but it’s getting close to 10 years now? What work has there been on engine maintainence?
What about the bottom end? Has there been leak-down test or compression testing? Any servicing since 2001?
They more you can share the more helpful this will be.
Thanks
David
Afternoon, the car has had oil and filter changes every two years since the rebuild. Last one was April this year. Also valve clearances done. Plugs and rotor arm and cap done in 2020 and inspected when the oil was done. Brake fluid replacement in 2017. No cam belt on this car as it is air cooled. The fan belt also inspected at time of oil changed. Gear box oil changed in2018.The top end was done by rpm and I’ve had no problems the pressures are all good.
Thanks very much Andy, appreciate the detailed information.
Are there receipts for this work? I didn’t see anything in the document files and there is nothing showing on the service history shown here. Did you do this work yourself?
Also, there is a mention of leaking at the lower casing (by RPM when they did the top end rebuild). Can you comment on the amount of oil leaking please. Has this stayed the same since 2014 or worsenned?
Thanks very much,
David
Yeah l do my own servicing. Only weeping on a small section one drop once car cools when parked. This has not changed
Hi AndySC
Do you know the date of manufacture?
Phil
Not the manufacture date but it was first registered new on the 1st of August 1982
Yeah original gearbox and engine
Hi Andy. Great details and images supplied but no mention of this being a matching numbers car. Is it?
Is the oil pressure light on in the cold start video?
It’s on at the first turn of the key as it should be, then off once the engine fires up.
Evening,
The car is in its original colour which is Schwartz metalic black colour code L703 a dark gun metal grey.
The respray was done before l got it there is a picture of it at the bottom
of the document pictures with works done.
It was just a refresh.
The wings were off for the works undertaken, the inner wings have had all the necessary works done before it was put back together.
The car is really solid my mechanic can’t believe how solid it is for its age ,he’s done the work for the last 10 years.
Hi Andy, I don’t believe L703 was a colour option for the SC, as nice as it is that’s what was confusing me looking at the pictures. Is it listed on any of the original documents you have? I don’t mean any offence but my bid would be different for a car in the original colour. Thanks
Sorry it’s L708 I’ve got a shot of the original paint code sticker I’ll try to get the trade classic team to put it up on line.
Morning, yes it’s L708 Schwarz Metallic and I’ve uploaded the images to the Paperwork section today.

Hi Andy, please can I ask a few questions regarding the re-spray?
From the pictures the car looks a very dark grey metallic not black, what was the original colour and what colour is the re-spray?
Was the re-spray done during your ownership?
Was the job bare metal or just a refresh?
Have you had the wings or quarters off or seen the condition of the chassis during your ownership?
Cheers
Hi Andy, can we arrange a viewing? I’m also in Aberdeen, thanks.
Yeah no probs, when you thinking?
Any time over the weekend if that suits?
Yeah reasonable flexible on Saturday and Sunday. Weather looks better on Sunday. Available tonight if you want and Weather looks ok if you’re near the city centre.
(If viewings are requested then please refer them to us in the comments – they need to pass our vetting process)
I’ve been told we have to go through a vetting process for everyone’s safety.
I can’t do this evening but weather looks reasonable tomorrow so I can do tomorrow evening? I’m west-end city centre so probably not too far at all
Trade classics procedure is all viewings need to go though them as the previous message.
ie you email them to arrange a viewing, they email me for acceptance.
Sorry for the inconvenience but that’s their policy.
Hey Andy, yes please send us your request to hello@tradeclassics.com – we just need to talk to you first, get your availability and also take some photo ID from you. Once we’ve done that then we can organise to get you out to view. Cheers Adam
