Introduction
Alan Stuart
An iconic British classic, the Jaguar E-Type is one of the most instantly recognisable vehicles in the world.
Manufactured between 1961 and 1974, the Jaguar E-Type is admired on a global level, both by those in the know and those who are not, as one of the most symbolic cars in motoring history, thanks to its gorgeous styling and stellar performance.
With its long bonnet and a 4.2L straight-six under the hood, the Jaguar is a thing of beauty. It isn't just pretty to look at; it also has the ability to get up and go. With a 0-60mph time of ~7.0 seconds and a top speed of ~150mph, the Jaguar is even fast by today's more modern standards.
This E-Type is one of the original UK supplied RHD cars, one of only ~1,013 produced. It has benefited from a good amount of service history over its life and has had several mechanical and electronic components, as well as its seats and centre console, restored.
New Fosseway vented front discs and calipers, a distributor, coil, brake reservoirs, and a new DAB/Bluetooth radio have been fitted. The car is also complete with its original owner's manual and service chart.
The Jaguar will be supplied with a brand new MOT certificate, with the advisories updated and issues resolved - a worthy note for the future owner. Overall, the E-Type is a real driver's car that performs well and looks great when out on the road, attracting attention for all the right reasons.

Hi Jim ,
I can see from the Govt MOT website that the Car failed it’s Mot on the 20th September with quite a long list of Advisories , but understand that it’s due to be re-submitted ( after work done )for testing on the 2nd October . Is the intention to provide the Car with a completely ‘Clean ‘ ( Pass and No Advisories ) MOT to pass on to the next Owner ?……or is it likely to be a ‘Pass with some minor Advisories ‘ outstanding ? Appreciate as a Historic Vehicle ,it doesn’t need an MOT , but this increasingly seems to be added by Owners looking to sell .
Regards
Robin
Hi Robin, Thanks for your question. I had the E Type tested at a local garage who I later found out had never tested an E Type before, and I questioned most of their findings! I had checked the handbrake by driving at 20mph and applying the brake and it locked the rear wheels! The upper ball joints they failed it on were virtually brand new having been changed after an advisory following the previous MOT in 2019 (by an experienced E Type mechanic). Other things mentioned in the test have been dealt with already. The E Type is being tested again on the 3rd Oct. at a Jaguar garage experienced in working on E Types. If there are any failures they will be repaired at that garage before re-testing. Any advisories will also be dealt with before the sale. Hope that info is useful. Jim
Hi Jim , Thankyou for the clarification .Did think it all looked a bit strange . Look forward to seeing new MOT details next week.
Regards Robin
MOT update 3/10/23. The E Type was MOT’d today at an E Type specialist garage and had just just 1 failure item and NO advisories.
This was a chafing on the bodywork with the fuel line.
This will be fixed by the E Type specialist garage shortly and the car will then have a full MOT with no advisories. Jim
