Introduction
Glyn Parry
Modern lines, turbocharged power, and a legacy that still echoes through motoring history, this automotive gem captured the imaginations of petrolheads worldwide.
The Ford Sierra RS Cosworth Sapphire 4X4 follows on from its motorsport-bred predecessor, retaining much of the same feel albeit with subtly tweaked handling traits of the original. Packaged in a more practical, stiffer, and manageable car, the Sierra Sapphire was rolled out in 1988 with well-weighted steering and an excellent balance of agility and stability.
The Sierra Sapphire makes for a genuinely engaging drive and was designed to win races, with its turbocharged 2.0L 16-valve engine producing around ~200 BHP, driving all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. Thanks to its 4x4 capability, four-wheel drive gives great functionality to the Cosworth.
This 1993 example is an exciting opportunity for fast Ford fans to own a clean, largely original RS Cosworth, and cars like these don't come up often. Equipped with Recaro leather seats and a trip computer, which made it a standout car in its day. A defining feature of this car is the large amount of restorative work carried out around 2014 to 2015, bringing it up to a really impressive standard.

Hi Andy, has the engine ever been re-built?
Thanks in advance.
Hello, not as far as I am aware. There is no evidence of this in the paperwork.
The car drives incredibly well, i most recently drove the car 140 miles from the Lake District to its current storage facility near Northampton only 4 weeks ago. Turned heads & had loads of thumbs up from passing drivers!!
When was the last service/timing belt change?
Hello, Timing belt was changed at 114,405 miles, which is evidenced within the paperwork images.
Thanks Andy
