Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
There's no doubting the 997's ability to put a smile on your face - and the 997 C2 doesn't disappoint.
The sixth generation of 911, which launched its legacy in 2004, offered a little more sophistication to the design compared to its predecessor, increasing the appeal of a new generation of water-cooled 911s. In addition to its unmistakable styling and strong engineering, Porsche's ergonomics department created an interior that was aesthetically pleasing and offered additional room for both passengers and luggage. Not only did the 911 continue to be one of the greatest rear-engine sports cars ever made, but very few vehicles could match its reputation and craftsmanship.
First registered in May 2006, this Carrera with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox is presented in the classic Arctic Silver finish and grey leather interior combo. Fitted with the durable 3.6-litre flat-six engine, it comes with a regular service schedule and evidence of careful ownership over the years. There is an upgraded media centre to enjoy, as well as recent attention to its suspension to make the most of that driving experience, it comes with a current MOT valid until June 2025. We think this could be the best opportunity to grab a future classic for a rather modest outlay.

Mot note can I assume it was renewed for 12 Months from May 2024 . Thank you
Yes 12 months from May
Hi Tracey, just a couple of questions, how many keys do you have for the car?
When is the next service due, and do you know if it’s a minor or major service due next.
Many thanks
Hi – there is one main key plus a skeleton key.
Looking at the paperwork on the site, there seems to be the latest one missing but I am sure it was a major service and it is not due another for sometime. I will have to try and track down the answer because I am not with the car at the moment. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Has the IMS bearing been replaced please?
The 1997-2005 models is where the IMS bearing was a problem. There was an upgrade for the 2006 model and the incidence of IMS problems are very low. It has not been a problem.
Hi Tracey, is there any documentation or photos to support the positive bore scope inspection at the last service? Thanks. Tom
Hi Tom, I don’t really understand question. Is there something in the paperwork that you can see? This is only papers that I have in total but I can ask the garage for something specific?
Hi- why was the paint work needed?- corrosion or accident damage?
It was because a previous repair (before me) had not been done well and the paint cracked a bit. I spent £3k having it completely stripped back and done properly.
