Why was it not used for so long?
As I is a classic it has been well looked after in safe garage and I have other daily driver cars in use.
Is it the original engine and gearbox?
Yes gearbox & engine are original with matching serial numbers .
The water pump and timing belt plus aux belt was replaced with new along with the PAS pump

I can confirm the engine is 2.0l as it has been with us for 11 years now as listed on the docs provided

No worries, it’s oil level, same as the 16v.
