Introduction
Tom Brett
In the family since 1986, this British classic is waiting for a new owner to get it back on the road.
The Triumph Herald was introduced in 1959 and ceased production in 1971, making this '13/60' example one of the later models. Designed by Giovanni Michelotti, the car came in many body styles like the convertible you see here.
This car has stood the test of time, even though it hasn't been use for some 16 years, it's been garaged for most of its time off the road. We were very surprised to see the good condition of the interior and hood, for a car that's spent the last 5 years outdoors under a cover. This is a car for someone with the knowhow to snap up and rejuvenate.

Hi there I won the car.

Hey Andy – nice one. Well done. You should have received an email from us with next steps last night. Give us a shout if you need anything. Cheers Adam
Reserve Met – This car will sell to the highest bidder this evening. Best, Kulraj
Is the car running? If not will it turn over by hand or is it siezed up??
Hello. It’s not running but I haven’t charged the battery or put petrol in to test. It’s not been used for about 16 years. I don’t have enough mechanical knowledge to know what it would take to make it run or if that amount of time means it has siezed up in any way. Sorry that’s perhaps not very helpful.
Can we come and see this car we are in Daventry
Hi, we help to organise any potential viewings. Could you give us a call on 01926 426 635 during business hours and we will help to arrange. Best, Kulraj
Yes, no problem. If you could call the Trade Classics number given below to arrange.
Hi where is the car located please
Near Rugby, Warwickshire
How is the chassis? Is there much welding needed and if so where.
How solid are the floors and boot.
Hello, thank you for your interest. I am not aware of any welding being required on the chassis. The floor and boot are solid. But is there anything specific you want me to look for on the chassis. I can have a look tomorrow.
I do know that the hood frame will need fixing on one corner where it is broken. One of the photos shows this.
On the chassis it is the normal rust points for example the outriggers
I’ve had a look underneath and it all looks solid to me. There is some surface rust in places but no corrosion causing anything to need welding. I took some more photos of underneath and will see if they can be added.
For info I have passed photos in to Trade Classics to add, showing the underneath of the car.
Hi William, we’ve uploaded the extra photos to the write-up, you can see them from this link onwards; https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/triumph/1969-triumph-herald-13-60/#gallery3-58
