Introduction

A fantastic project car with a lot of the hard work already been done by Alfa specialists to the mechanical side and bodywork. Now it is up to the new owner how they want to add their own touch to this classic pocket coupe and rebuild the car.

Since purchasing the car in 2018 a lot of time and attention has gone into vehicle to get it to where it is today. However, with the loss of storage facilities and other commitments this classic has to be sold.

Exterior

With this solid monocoque chassis and elegant stance with the quad headlight arrangement, this project is ready for the new buyer to put their own stamp on the finished GT.

Wheels and Tyres

Original Alfa 14” steel wheels in great condition with near new Falken 165/80R14 tyres all round.

Bodywork

The bodywork has been repaired where necessary with new Alfaholic steel panels, seam welded rather than the factory spot welds making this monocoque shell super strong.

Paint

The GT has been finished in old English white and is now showing small signs of age with some chips to the paint work. The current owner wanted a fast road type car so the emphasis is not on the paint finish but it would not take much effort for the new owner to step the finish up.

As you work your way around the car you see the overall good condition of the body. Surface rust is apparent on some areas, please review the video to examine all the bodywork.

Glass and Trim

The front and rear screens have been fitted and the side and door glass comes with the car but not yet installed. The chrome work will need to be examined by the new owner, there is a mix of old and new parts. There is some delamination to the front windscreen. Take a look at the images.

Interior

The GT still retains the interior dash layout and now has a new headlining fitted but other than that the new interior is ready to be chosen and installed by the new owner.

Seats and Carpets

The drivers seat has been fitted to ease manoeuvring the car around.

Dashboard

The original dashboard and gauges are still present.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The original steering wheel and gear stick have been retained.

Mechanics

The jewel in this GT is a tuned 2 litre nord engine fitted by CSR (Chris Snowden Racing) of Hampshire, replacing the original 1600cc unit. A superb engine mated to a Bob Dove rebuilt gearbox.

Engine and Gearbox

The current owner has invested in excess of £5k in the recondition 2 litre Alfa nord engine and rebuilt gearbox and all now singing harmoniously together along with a new exhaust system.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension and brakes has been overhauled along with reconditioned brake master cylinders, pipe work and callipers. The brake boosters require attention so the car cannot be driven without the use of the handbrake.

The Drive

With the engine and bodywork being effectively new the full driving experience will be with the new owner to fettle to their choice.

Electrics and Other

The electrical system will need to be reviewed by the new owner as well as the gauges, as a result of the car being idle for some time.

The fuel system including a new fuel tank and fuel lines have been fitted.

History and Paperwork

The GT is an original UK registered RHD vehicle but sadly has lost its history over the years.

The car is currently not on the road, marketed as a project, all parties involved cannot wait to see this back on the tarmac.

Invoices include works carried out by JSWL of Waterlooville.

A full set of Alfaholics rubber trims are included in the sale along with a small amount of interior parts.
