Introduction
Dom Ginn
Historic vehicles don't get much smarter than this Alvis Supercharged Special - this example is a page straight from the motoring book of history.
Alvis was a manufacturer of racing cars, aircraft engines, armoured cars and vehicles from the '20s through to '67. With a focus on the civilian market the 12/70 was born with only around 740 of these ever made.
This example is something special: supercharged; fine tuned; re-profiled and with great competitive history. A well known motor within the Vintage Sports Car Club circle, this hillclimb ready special is a 3 time Hulbert Trophy competition winner, built and developed by the previous owner to be a racing success.
A great example of real one-off special, this Alvis provides a real exhilarating experience and performs beautifully.

I notice you have had this car for a year was the car stored before and if so for how long and in the time you have had it have you driven it much. Thank you for your help, Michael
Hi Michael. Yes I have had the car a year and am only selling it as another interesting project has come along. I bought the car after the previous owner and builder Duncan Fish passed away. He campaigned the car extensively right up until his death. I competed at VSCC Long Course Prescott last September in the car and have done two local rallies in Essex – and driven the car to pub runs a few times. It is the lack of use that is really prompting the sale. I am very lucky and have a Vauxhall 30-98 which tends to get the most use – and the next project is another Vauxhall based special. Hope this helps. She is a great car and needs an enthusiastic new owner to carry on developing and driving her the way Duncan used to. She is a great hill climb special. Best regards, Saul
Hi Saul, thank you for your reply, I have an mg ta and I was looking for something else to get my teeth into. Not to waste your time I see the reserve has not been meet, could I ask what you are thinking for the car. If you do not what to say I understand. Yours Michael
Hi Michael,
Like any auction house, reserve values are not disclosed during the auction. If the reserve has been met, the dial indicator will reflect this.
Best,

Hi Michael .. I am afraid I cannot disclose that .. one of the rules of the auction process. MG TA’s are great cars. The Alvis would certainly be a fab project to get your teeth into. She is well loved within the VSCC and deserves a new home that will lavish some more attention on her. Best regards, Saul
Hi Saul, thank you for the information I have an mg ta at the moment and I am looking for a new project, I will keep an eye on the price. Yours Michael
