Introduction
Glyn Parry
The Aston Martin DB9 is a phenomenal grand tourer which looks, feels and sounds incredible.
The Aston Martin DB9 was first shown in 2003 at the Frankfurt Auto Show being the successor of the DB7. Designed by Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker, two designers famous for the concept designs of the Escort Cosworth, RS200, BMW Z8 and many more.
With a much sharper and modern design than the DB7 it succeeded, and fitted with the 5.9L V12 from the Vanquish, it offered outstanding performance. The DB9 was the first model to be built at Aston Martin's Gaydon facility in Warwickshire, and it received an excellent reception from the press when launched.
This particular example finished in beautiful Toro Red, is a one owner car from new and has a service book full to the brim with main dealer stamps having only covered ~58,000 miles since 2007.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Simon the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi – is there a reason why the car wasn’t serviced in 2017 and 2018? Have you ever had an reliability issues/ break downs?
Also, are you able to check with the Aston Martin dealership which you have her serviced at to see when the plugs and coils were last changed? thank you.
Hi – it was serviced in both years; I don’t know why the dealer only stamped the MOT in the handbook. Sadly I don’t have the invoices for the service, but I can see the money going out on my credit card!
Good evening Simon, do you have a contact number please? I’m interested in coming to have a look tomorrow please before bidding blind! Im thinking of coming around 2pm if this would be suitable. Thanks William
Hi skinner6421, could you drop us an email to hello@tradeclassics.com and we will help arrange this for you. Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
Hi – is there a small dent at the front of the bonnet (left hand side)? It may be just the light reflecting in the photos. Many thanks
Hi – I’ve just been out to the garage to double check; there are no dents on the front of the bonnet – so it must just be the way the light is falling
May sound like a silly one but do you know if a full set of golf clubs fit in that boot ?
I don’t play golf, so I don’t know – but am asking a friend
Friend says they can just about get the trolley in the boot, but the clubs go in the passenger seat at the front.
Hi – is this non-smoker car?
I am a non smoker, and no one has smoked in the car since I purchased new.
Many thanks. She is a beautiful car.
Hi – have you received any quotes to fix the paintwork issues?
No
Has you had disks and pads replaced in recent mileage
No – I’ve always made changes when recommended by Aston service. Pads and discs got ‘green’ assessment by dealer at last service in December; front pads actual ‘6’ vs ‘3’ recommended, rear pads actual ‘5’ vs ‘3’ recommended. Front discs ‘31.3’ actual vs ’30’ recommended, rear discs ‘27.6’ actual vs ‘1.6’ recommended. Hope that helps
Have there been any major service items?
the bulk of the mileage was done in the first 6 or 7 years I owned the car; recent years mileage has been much more modest. So service over the last 6 years has been entirely routine.
There has never been any significant mechanical or electrical work needed. I did scratch the edge of the driver’s door in 2009 (it’s a long story); all completely put right in the Aston dealership bodyshop.
No Auto transmission issues?
No issues with the transmission
Many thanks
Hi
Have the Plugs and Coils been changed recently?
Thanks
Peter
Last service was 2 December 2020, and they did not identify any concerns with plugs or coils
Thanks for that. Do you know when they were last changed?
Thanks
Sorry Peter – it wasn’t at the 2019 Service; and I don’t retain the detailed invoices for prior services. It would be wrong for me to guess a date.
Hi Simon
Thanks for your reply.
Having had a DB9 before it’s specified that the plugs (and coils if needed) are changed every 7 years so it’s something that’ is coming up on a 13 year old car.
Kind regards
Peter
