Power, beauty and soul - the V8 Vantage is the very definition of the sports car.

It might be unfair to suggest that the V8 Vantage is just an entry-level Aston, particularly with the 4.3-litre ~385BHP V8 in charge of business, yet the car is considered as the perfect introduction to the Aston Martin experience. Pitched as a more exclusive option for those in the market for a premium sports coupe, the V8 Vantage offered driver engagement with a touch of British class. When the V8 Vantage was introduced in 2005, it preserved the handcrafted qualities of the brand while also defining it as one of the last analogue luxury sports cars. Despite its baby Aston status, it was quickly recognised as one of the best sports cars of its era, with a notable talent for performance, road manners and styling. Built for the discerning driver, the potent V8 engine also proved to be a durable and robust asset. Handy for touring, thanks to its respectable fuel range, the car has plenty of luggage space and ample room for two adults.

This 2007 V8 Vantage is finished in "Tungsten Silver Metallic" with a complimentary Phantom Grey leather interior, comes to market after ~3 years ownership with our vendor. Beautifully presented with just 3 previous owners, it has only covered ~40,123 miles since new. Along with the very recent service, it also has 13 other service stamps, a 12-month MOT, an upgraded lightweight AMR clutch, and the useful addition of a professionally installed CarPlay system.

Meet the owner

I first saw the car at the 2005 Motor Show at the NEC and thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd seen!

A promise to himself after first seeing the V8 Vantage at the Motorshow, Paul was not disappointed when the opportunity came up to own one. He loves the way it looks, the way it sounds and every time he locks it and walks away, still looks back over his shoulder and smiles. He succinctly describes the experience as power, beauty and soul and they are all captured in the roar of that V8.

Paul’s new job means that he will be doing more miles than previously, and although the Vantage is up to the task of a daily commute, he’d rather work up the mileage in a more modern car. The Aston is a luxury that he can’t currently justify just for the weekends, so hopes that it will find a new owner who will get as much joy from it as he has. He has kept on top of the servicing annually, and has just had the car serviced in July. He will be happy to answer any questions about the car in the comments section below.

Exterior

Its pretty and timeless styling is enhanced by its excellent exterior presentation.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19” 7-Spoke alloys finished in silvery are in fairly good condition. They do curb marks though, a refurbishment would make them match the rest of the exterior condition.

The car is fitted with a full set of matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, the rear pair are very recent fittings and the front are dated from 2021, all have plenty of even tread. Take a look through the images to see the detail.

Bodywork

The panel fit is flush and the door shuts are even. All doors open and close with ease and have decent rubbers. The exterior is free of damage, aside from a small under-paint reaction close to the nearside door handle, typical for this era of aluminium bodies Aston Martins. The car's structure is positive with no outstanding issues noted on the floor pan, wheel wells, suspension mounts, boot floor or engine bay.

Paint

The paint has a decent lustre and a matching hue across the car, "Tungsten Silver Metallic" the name of the colour. There are a handful of minor blemishes on the lowest sections of the front bumper and a few small age-related marks elsewhere but overall the car is free of significant road wear or scuffs.

Glass and Trim

The glass and its seals are in good shape. The recently fitted clear rear lights are in great condition, with a spot of condensation noted in the nearside lens. Mild signs of age were seen on the front lenses.

The trim is good and well mounted, with mild surface corrosion spotted on the rear bumper mesh and light signs of age on the door mirror frames. The bumpers fit flush to the body.

Interior

The combination of V8 Vantage's high quality materials and its low mileage have gone some way into preserving the cabin.

Seats and Carpets

Finished in Phantom Grey leather with contrast white stitching, the standard sports seats generally present well. The driver's seat has minor scuffs and a little wear on the outer bolster.

The car has been fitted with a pair of clean aftermarket front footwell mats, which are a good fit. The carpets are decent throughout with very little signs of wear. The luggage area is completely dry.

Dashboard

The dashboard is in excellent condition, with no notable damage. The centre console is also positive, with some minor signs of wear but above the expectations of a car of this age. The binnicle, buttons and controls are in decent shape and are all reported as working.

The interior trim, door cards and headlining are cleanly presented, with some minor signs of age spotted in the rear.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The multi-function steering wheel is also wrapped in Phantom Grey leather and is neatly presented.

The manual gearstick and leather shroud tell a similar story also as pictured.

Mechanics

The characterful and engaging V8 engine is literally music to the ears when worked through the rev range.

Engine and Gearbox

As to be expected for a car with a positive level of servicing, the cold start process was trouble-free as the car fired up without any dashboard warning lights. The engine idles smoothly with no undulations or unwanted noises as the exhaust burbled without smoke.

The 6-speed manual gearbox was demonstrated to work efficiently with smooth changes. The has an upgraded lightweight AMR clutch which is said to vastly improve the driving experience. Watch the video to see and hear the car in action.

Suspension and Brakes

The car drives well with no untoward noises from the suspension, typically firm but free of rattles. The road holding at high speeds felt planted and secure.

The braking is very effective, with no pulling at the steering wheel and no judders or squeals. The discs and callipers are visually in good condition.

The Drive

The Aston Martin seduces the driver with its top-end quality cabin, handling and seductive styling but the sound of the V8 engine is the clincher. The rewards of the flexible engine were ably demonstrated by Paul during the test drive. We found an open stretch of road, as the power seamlessly thrusted the car up to the national speed limit.

The power delivery was even and at no point did we hear any unwanted mechanical noises. At urban speeds it remained smooth with nothing negative to report. Paul also praised the car's reliability, likely to have been helped by regular and careful use.

Electrics and Other

The car has been retrofitted with Carplay by Aston Installations. Paul told us all electrics are working as expected, to his knowledge. He told us the air conditioning was working but may need some investigation as it is a bit weak.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market from ~3 year ownership, 3 former keepers, modest mileage of ~40,000, the car also has been upgraded with a lightweight AMR clutch, and CarPlay system.

Registered on the 1st of March 2007 by Harwoods In Chichester, the car comes with its service handbook, which includes 14 service stamps, with 10 stamps from the Aston Martin main dealer. It comes with one key, two remote alarm fob cards and Aston Installations literature for the CarPlay system. Recently serviced by an independent specialist, it also comes with an MOT to August 2025.

I can confirm service was on the 26/07/24 at 39990 miles. There is a typo on the invoice generated for that service on the 30/07/24. The “in” mileage is correctly typed, “out” mileage has the typo. You can see the official stamp corresponds with the correct mileage.
