A timeless design, the performance of the Vantage matches the looks and sounds amazing with its V8.

First coming on the market in 2005, the V8 Vantage went through its first major upgrade for the 2009 model year. The main change was the fitting of a re-worked, larger capacity 4.7L engine which offered improvements to peak power and torque. The most noticeable difference in the upgraded version, is the updated cabin centre console complete with a glass ECU in place of a key and a new sat-nav system. The V8 Vantage transmission had also undergone changes to improve performance and to handle the increased levels of power and torque. The manual 6-speed version featured in the listing, benefited from a modified clutch and flywheel, reducing clutch pedal efforts and delivered additional weight saving. Bringing this all together, the Aston is capable of delivering of ~420bhp, a top speed of ~180mph and an improved 0-60mph time of ~4.7 seconds.

This example comes to market from just shy of ~3 years ownership, and has recently been serviced too. Having covered under ~8,000 miles in the last 4 years, this is considered a low mileage example of the model, and presents well in its triple black colourway with manual gearbox. It's seen regular servicing when used over time, and with a popular spec it should be seen an a good investment over time.

I've always been a fan of Aston Martin, I wanted something special and this is certainly one of the best cars I've ever owned.

Having had his fair share of premium cars in the past few years, Vince has loved his time with the Aston, "The pleasure of driving a Vantage has been a great experience, the Aston Martin badge has a real sense of prestige that I really admire".

Covering ~4,000 miles over his ownership, the Aston has been well maintained and looked over with regular servicing over Vince's ~3 years. With an ongoing knee problem, the time has come for Vince to change to a car with more accessibility "I don't want to change my choice of drive, but I feel that my body needs a different car to better support me". Exterior

Beautifully packaged in a well-balanced design, these cars still look fresh and exciting today.

Wheels and Tyres

The 5 spoke, 19" diamond cut alloy wheels look in generally good condition. If we were being really picky, there are a few curb marks on the outer edges and evidence of lacquer peel on the centre caps which is a common thing with this era of Aston. Should the new owner wish, these may benefit from a refurb at a later date.

Bridgestone Potenza front tyres were fitted all round with a spec of 235/40 at the front, and a good level of tread. Rears show Pirelli P-Zero's with a spec of 275/35 again showing a respectable level of tread. Please note, the offside front tyre was noted as an advisory on the latest MOT check. Take a look over the exterior gallery section for a close up view of the wheels and tyres on the Aston.

Bodywork

The Vantage is presented beautifully and has been clearly looked after over it's ownership. The cars shut lines and panels appearing true and straight. The bright finish grille and meshed bonnet cut outs to the front of the Aston give an added level of aggression and contrast to the bodywork setting the car off nicely.

Paint

Finished in "Onyx Black" the paintwork around the car shows remarkably well, we didn't note any major signs of concern around the exterior and only spotted a few signs of stone chips to the front. We did note that the Aston may have had some paint repair work on the front offside bonnet section although we had to look particularly closely to see this.

Again, we have taken high resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves. The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these high resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

Windscreen, side windows, mirrors and lenses all appear in great condition. We could see no sign of scratching or chips on the glass. The trim and seals are all in place with the iconic Aston badging and chrome trim looking good. Just one point to note, the offside door seal looks like it would benefit from being replaced.

Interior

Luxurious materials, stunning craftsmanship and a premium level of quality, Aston Martins always give the driver a special feeling behind the wheel.

Seats and Carpets

The heated electric memory seats are finished in a lovely "Obsidian Black" trim with "Raven Black" upper and lower stitching. Condition is great on both the driver and passenger seats, there were a few signs of wear on the driver side outer bolster section but nothing that really stood out as a problem.

Carpets show well across the interior and looking underneath the added mat sections, the original mats and carpets show without issue, with aftermarket overmats protecting them. Looking over the boot section, the interior here also shows really well. Cabin area headlining is finished in "Tailors Grey" and again shows without concern.

Dashboard

Finished with the same stitching and black leather to the seats, there are no marks or damage to mention on the dashboard. The instruments are working as they should, with the odometer displaying a reading of ~39,323 miles on our visit.

You may note that a warning light was displayed in our mechanical review video due to the bonnet being open, out on the road and securing the car, we noted no warning lights displayed. Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The original black leather Aston Martin 3 spoke wheel shows in an excellent condition. Media and phone control functions are available on the base of the wheel for driver comfort.

The 6-speed transmission works superbly and presented no issues when we were on the road, going through its paces well and shifting with ease. We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and appreciate the condition of the interior in our gallery section.

Mechanics

Bringing ~420BHP and 0-60 in ~4.7 seconds, the Vantage packs in tons of power and torque as well as bringing an incredible soundtrack for the journey ahead.

Engine and Gearbox

Having travelled just ~39,323 miles over its history, there is very little to fault with this engine, starting, stopping, idling and revving without concern, as to be expected with a vehicle of this quality. The gearbox responded really well to the current owner when out in the car. Smooth and fast changes with a level of performance that presented no problems when on the road.

Suspension and Brakes

Aston branded red brake callipers look great on the wheels and produce some serious stopping power which we put to test on our road test. We noted no unwanted noises or knocks, bangs or issue from the suspension when we were on the road in the car.

The Drive

Superb levels of handling and the ability to offer a ride style suited to daily cruiser, the Vantage really is suited to all types of driving. Elegant body lines, a comforting interior and a powerful V8 under the bonnet, the Aston offers both luxury and performance.

Aston Martin's have a subtleness that is just totally unique in the industry, and the engine in particular, has an incredible weight balance with incredible chassis dynamics designed to give the driver one of the ultimate driving experiences.

Electrics and Other

On our visit we tested all of the electronics in the cabin area which worked without concern. The clock, pop up screen, heated electric memory seats and displays were all functioning well. The air con was functioning well after being recharged on its last service.

The Aston also features power fold wing mirrors, high spec alarm, cruise control, parking sensors, HID headlights and bluetooth phone system, A great additional feature is the original Aston pen which is set into the base of the dash area. The Aston is complete with its glass key, spare and emergency key.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market from ~3 year ownership, this car presents in great condition and in a specification which is often sought after with manual gearbox.

The last servicing was carried out in October 2022 which covered an engine oil change, oil and cabin filter replacement, brake clean, screen wash and engine flush at a cost of over £500. Prior to this, the same process was applied in July 2020 costing £690. New Pirelli P-Zero rear tyres were purchased in March 2020. Servicing was also conducted in March 2019 covering the oil filter, sump plugs and engine oil costing £745. An interim service was carried out in March 2017 costing £460. Aston Martin servicing was completed in Feb 2014, May 2013, May 2012, September 2010 and April 2009.
