Introduction
Dom Ginn
Forget fragile and flaky supercars, this is an Audi R8 V10 - reliable, practical, sexy, and most importantly fast, very fast.
Introducing the Audi R8 V10, a highly appraised car by racing drivers all over the world for being the best handling road car when it launched. This is the model you want - featuring the newly improved V10 that gives you that edge on the track and the street, a very desirable exotic supercar.
This particular example is a bit special, in coupe form with the V10 power plant, and importantly that open gated 6 speed manual gearbox. On top of the spec, it's only covered some 12,000 miles from new and coming out of 2 and a half years ownership, with just 1 previous owner; a combination that will be hard to match.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Graham the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Ian, I have owned the car for the last 2.5 years and there was one equally fastidious owner prior to me. I hope this gives you the information that you a wanted. Thanks Graham

Hi Steve, the paintwork is excellent, there are no noticeable stone chips, any marks you see is either the light or my bad cleaning! Thanks Graham
Thanks Graham!
Hi Graham, nice car. The exact spec I’m looking for in fact. I can’t tell for sure from the video if it’s just the light but are there some white stone chips on the bonnet?
Many thanks.
Hi Ian,
In my opinion the interior is a light silver grey.
The seat and and back is ‘Alcantara’ which has a suede appearance and can look marked due to the direction of the nap.
The seats are not stained.
The ‘Alcantara’ provides grip as opposed to risk of sliding on a leather seat.
I trust that this answers your questions.
Thanks
Graham
Afternoon Graham
How’s the driver’s seat as cream leather can often stain from different coloured fabrics coming in contact?
Ian
Hi Graham,
I hope you’re well and that you’d be able to answer a few questions…
1) Why were 3 tyres replaced rather than 4?
2) Have the brake fluid, gearbox oil, coolant or diff oil ever been changed?
3) Will all the paperwork be provided?
4) How are the brakes – any vibration through the steering wheel or brake pedal?
5) Could a more detailed picture of the corrosion on the offside rear wheel arch be provided – I couldn’t see it in the pictures?
6) There is a white mark under the “V10” badge on the offside front – is this a paint chip?
7) Do the keys fold correctly?
Cheers,
Chris
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your interest, I am happy to answer your questions in the same order.
1) From memory I had a puncture in one tyre but can’t find the receipt for it. Because of the age, not wear my regular specialist garage recommended replacing the other 3 tyres. Interestingly the Audi health check did not recommend replacing the tyres.
2) I had to look through the paperwork to answer this, it seems for the gearbox and (2?) differentials, the oil has not been replaced. The brake fluid and coolant have been noted as being replaced in accordance with the service schedules. I know the previous owner and he was fastidious in caring for the car and is my specialist is also likeminded and found the very minor oil leak when carrying out a service resulting in the replacement of oil pipes from the oil tank to the oil cooler. I believe all the regular servicing has been undertaken in accordance with the manufacture’s requirements.
3) All the paperwork will be provided with the car to maintain it’s exceptional provenience.
4) There is absolutely no vibration through the steering or brakes and the brakes are excellent. It would be fair to say that neither myself or the previous owner are ‘boy racers’ and have looked after the car. As a result it does feel like a new car.
5) I had to point out the corrosion to the consigner as it so unnoticeable. If you look very carefully above the lower rear panel line immediately in front of 1-2 o’clock on rear driver side wheel it is there.10mm in diameter it can only easily be located by feel and hence doesn’t show up in photographs. I will ask Trade Classics to provide a better photograph and consigner’s comment.
6) There is no paint chip, the white mark is my poor cleaning! My excuse is my injured hand.
7) The keys both fold correctly.
I trust the above satisfies your enquiries, if you have any further questions, I would be pleased to answer them.
Thanks
Graham
Hi Chris, you can see the area in this picture, it’s 1cm in from where the rear offside wing meets the side body panel; https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/audi/2009-audi-r8-v10-manual-coupe/#gallery1-110
Good morning Greg, I had to get the manual out as I use the handbrake when needed on hill starts. Old fashioned I suppose. It does have a hill hold assist. There is an auxiliary input to which I am sure it would be possible to stream music. I generally listen to the engine, radio or one of the 6 cd’s. Thanks Graham
Thank you, Graham. That’s very helpful.
Hi Graham
Does the car have the Hill Hold Assist feature? And can music be streamed from a phone to it?
Hi, does the car have the mag ride suspension? If so have these been replaced yet?
Hi Steve, the car does have mag ride suspension, I checked the paperwork before I owned the car and there is no reference to any replacement. I have had no issues at all with the suspension, I had the car checked over by Audi when I bought the car and they found no issue. My regular specialist has checked the car more recently and found no issue. The only recent problem was the tyre pressure sensor which has been replaced as detailed in the paperwork. Thanks Graham
Thanks Graham.
