The Audi R8 V10 Plus Quattro represents the pinnacle of Audi's high-performance lineup for that era. It comes with its original drivers manuals, two sets of keys and a current MOT valid until 08.03.2025. Meet the owner

Having owned a Porsche 997, moving to the Audi R8 felt like a big step into supercar territory.

Owning a red sports car has always been on the cards for Robin, our vendor. The Audi R8 ticked several boxes for him after deciding to move from a sports car to a supercar. The R8 V10 is a car that can go toe-to-toe with many of its Italian and German rivals in terms of raw speed and acceleration. It also boasts a head-turning design you would expect from a supercar, with sharp angles, a wide stance, and an unmistakable presence on the road.

With the R8 box ticked, Robin has one more car he wants to try before any children come along, and priorities take a different order. He will be happy to answer any questions about the car in the comments section below.

Exterior

The later facelift version of the original R8, being a Plus it comes with the fitting carbon fibre trim.

Wheels and Tyres

The original 19" gloss black alloy wheels, standard for the Plus, are in good condition with very few age-related marks to point out. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres are in good condition and have a good amount of tread remaining.

Bodywork

The bodywork on the Audi R8 is in excellent shape, with no dings or dents spotted. The panel gaps are visually equal and matching, and, as you can see, the R8 also benefits from the carbon fibre "blades", door mirrors, a lower front spoiler, and rear diffuser.

Paint

Finished in "Brilliant Red", the paintwork looks excellent. There may be the odd age-related stone chip on the front, but certainly, nothing stands out.

Glass and Trim

The windows are in good condition with no noticeable scratches. The carbon fibre panels and trims all appear to be in good condition with no damage too, the grille surround on the driver side of the front bumper has come loose on one corner, Robin told us he is going to replace the tape holding it before the R8 sells.

Being a Plus, the car comes with a carbon fibre reinforced plastic front splitter, the same for the rear diffuser, along with the wing mirror covers too.

Interior

Black leather, bucket seats, and plenty of carbon fibre – the ultimate supercar interior.

Seats and Carpets

The black leather electric and heated sports seats are in good order, with just a light amount of age-related wear on the drivers side bolster.

The carpet has been protected with a set of fitted mats, both of which are also in good condition. Please see the interior gallery for more detailed images.

Dashboard

The R8’s dashboard is in excellent condition, with no signs of damage or scuffs. The instruments are working correctly, with no warning lights displayed when the car is running, and the odometer shows a reading of ~61,651 miles.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The flat-bottomed steering wheel is in good condition with no signs of excessive wear to the rim, buttons on either side, or the paddles mounted behind.

The aluminium gear selector for the S-Tronic gearbox is in good condition, with just a few minor scratches on the polished finish.

Mechanics

It doesn’t get more raw than a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10, engineered for a pure adrenaline rush, pushing out ~542BHP.

Engine and Gearbox

Producing around ~542BHP with approximately 398lb-ft of torque, the 5.2-litre V10 can propel the R8 from 0-60mph in around 3.3 seconds. Turn the key, and the V10 roars to life, sounding quite simply fantastic. Robin hasn’t reported any issues with the car running.

Fitted with a seven-speed automatic S-Tronic gearbox, the gear changes are much smoother than previous models, and the R8 pulls strongly through the entire range. There is also the option to use the paddle shifters for those with a more spirited driving style.

Suspension and Brakes

As you would expect from a supercar, the handling is excellent no matter which setting you choose. The ride is firm but not too harsh, and there were no knocks or bangs during our test drive.

Being the Plus model, it comes with ceramic brakes as standard, which certainly stop you quickly if needed.

The Drive

In the R8, you have options: you can turn everything down and have a usable car that can be easily driven around town, or you can switch to sport mode, allowing the R8 to come alive and experience precisely what it was intended for – and you won’t be disappointed!

Electrics and Other

All of the switchgear appears in very good condition with no real signs of age or wear, and everything is reported to work correctly. There is a Pioneer touchscreen head unit fitted, along with plenty of carbon fibre trim, all of which are in excellent condition.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market from over ~1.5 year ownership, the car presents beautifully, there is a comprehensive service history, 2 keys and the owners manuals – the R8 V10 Plus is ready to go.

Looking through the paperwork, the R8 appears to have been serviced regularly with genuine parts purchased through TPS by one of the vendors over the years. There are several invoices for parts purchased, and work carried out, along with the owner's manuals pack and folder.

Stansted Audi carried out the most recent service in September 2024 at 60,236 miles, so there’s plenty of mileage left before the next service is due.

If you’ve ever wanted to own an Audi R8, the V10 Plus model is undoubtedly the one to go for – offering fantastic performance and all the carbon fibre touches that any self-respecting supercar should have.     What is your reserve policy?

    Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

    Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

    Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes.
