Introduction
Glyn Parry
Changing the round headlights to a meaner squared style and modernising the bodywork, the car featured in Car and Driver Magazine's 10 Best Cars list for every year it was on sale.
The BMW 3-Series E36-generation was the defining compact executive car during the 1990s, with its competitors in Audi and Mercedes someway behind. The car did not take long to be loved by motorists.
The big change technically, on top of that sleek new styling was the fitment of a new independent rear suspension set-up, known as the Z-axle. It was a multilink set-up, which helped maintain the 3-Series' position as the market sector's best handling car.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Leigh the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Auction now live, good luck if you decide to get involved and make a bid.
If the car hasnt covered 38000??? Why list this way? It is confusing, underhanded even. As Duncan Valentines said, ‘Im out’!
Hello Steve. I didn’t know that Trade Classics had put the car on eBay but I can confirm that I did pick up on the mileage when they sent me the Web site proof and I see on their Web page they have changed it to say UK mileage, the text does show the SA km (about 14000 miles) as does the paperwork Please feel free to call me if you need any details. I will speak to them tomorrow re their ebay ad
Thanks
Hi Leigh.
I was impressed by your introduction to your vehicle. It certainly is in great condition and I would feel confident bidding on it with any inspection. If you don’t know the car is currently listed on E-bay. But the listing is currently wrong. I have E-mailed ‘trade-classics’ about the error,(Thursday). They have said they will ‘look at it’. But they have still failed to correct it. The advert currently states the car has traveled 38000 miles, which as you know is not correct. This is very misleading and everybody who will read your advert on the internet all the weekend are going to be at the least confused.
So much for the team at ‘tradeclassics’ being professionals.
I’m writing to you to see if you can contact ‘tradeclassics ‘ and have your advert corrected before Monday or sometime next week.
I would be tempted to bid. I’d be happy to exceed the lower threshold of the guide price. It depends on how much importance you want to attached on ‘who buys it’. I assure you it would be solely a weekend car here, parked in my garage and only used on the weekends in the dry weather. i look forward to reading your personal reply.
Best regards Steve Smith
