Meet the owner

I have used the car for holidays with the family - roughly driving around 2,000 per year.

Manny is a passionate driver who has had many different sports cars in his time. He mentions to us though that the M5 still surprises him to this day due to its sturdy nature and striking performance statistics.

Judging by the condition of the car, Manny has been as good of an owner as he could be, getting the car serviced whenever needed so he is never worried about those warning lights popping up on the onboard computer. He mentions to us the M5's of this era should not be ragged around straight away from a cold start and he will religiously keep the car below 3,000rpm for the first half an hour of driving. Being lucky enough to have owned a number of performance BMWs, Manny feels the time has now come to move the car on as he is using the car less and less.

Finished in Silverstone Blue II, with unique M-class styling, a smart executive super saloon.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19" 10-spoke alloys made by BBS for BMW are in very good condition and have Continental tyres on all around.

We couldn't see any marks on the wheels from the media sent to us by Manny. Take a look at the images to see further detail.

Bodywork

You can tell that the vendor has taken care of this car. The shut lines are tight across the car, like you would expect for a modern performance vehicle like this.

No rust or dents observed in any of the media, the vendor has taken a full set of images so that you can review the condition in detail.

Paint

Set in stunning BMW Silverstone Blue II, a very tricky colour to photograph on the best of days. Some say it's blue, some says it's silver! Either way, it looks very good.

From the variety of pictures in different locations the vendor has taken, you'll see both the blue hue in the right light, and the more silver colour too. The paint is even in finish across all the panels, and looking through all the media (particularly the front) we didn't observe any defects/stone chips/scratched. A car that Manny has clearly taken care of.

Glass and Trim

The glass is in excellent condition with no issues, all the seals looking good.

The trim surrounding the windows have some slight discolouration, just nit-picking here. All badges and vents including metal are all in excellent condition.

Interior

Full leather, a smart cabin that like the exterior has been kept in excellent order.

Seats and Carpets

The leather-upholstered ivory heated front seats are laid out in a very good condition in line with the age / mileage of the car. We saw no rips or tears, Manny has used top quality products on the leather to keep it in excellent condition.

The back seats are in very good condition whilst all carpets have been cleaned prior to the sale.

Dashboard

BMW dashboards of this era onwards seem to always be in excellent condition due to their well-assembled nature.

In-car entertainment system is radio and CD compatible. Above the centre console is an electrically adjustable sunroof. Manny informs us that all the dials and switch gear works as it should do.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Both in excellent condition with no issues. The steering wheel comes with cruise control and entertainment features, one of which you could argue is the flappy paddles that control the SMG gearbox.

The stitching on the steering wheel looks great, colours still vibrant even with this car coming from 2005.

Mechanics

500BHP taking you from 0-60MPH in 4.7 seconds, the fastest 4 door saloon at production.

Engine and Gearbox

The E60 was the first production saloon to utilise a petrol V10 engine, the S85 being an exclusive engine produced my the M division for this car. The engine bay looks very clean and there were no issues on startup from an example with a full-service history. Please see the history section regarding a list of repairs made to the engine and other areas in Manny's ownership.

The automatic 7-speed gearbox works as expected with no issues as we are assured by Manny, a service having been carried out on it in recent times.

Suspension and Brakes

The E60 M5 has independent McPherson coil springs, anti-roll bar front suspension and multilink coil springs. For stopping power, the E60 5 Series M5 braking system includes vented Discs at the front and rear. They are in very good condition as pictured.

The underside of the car is in a clean condition with no signs of damage or rust etc.

The Drive

This is a highly sophisticated executive saloon, arguably the best value V10 that you can buy at this current time, and very unlikely that BMW will produce something like this again.

Whether you want to cruise through town or put your foot down on the motorway to hear that V10 roar, the M5 has you covered.

Electrics and Other

We are assured by Manny that all electrics work as expected on the car and ready to drive away. A clear set of reports from the on board computer as pictured.

History and Paperwork

Coming from 11 years careful ownership, and a full BMW service history to boot.

Prior to Manny's ownership of the vehicle, there have been 4 former keepers. After acquiring the M5 back in March 2009, he has now been the longest owner of the car after 11 years. The car comes with a full service history with BMW, and Manny has actioned some work with a specialist to prepare the car for the sale and new owner.

He has had the car serviced whenever needed and has had the following repairs made during that time: throttle valve actuator - wiring harness front door - front panel splash guards - engine oil level switch - oil level sensor - control unit for fuel pump - airbag ECU replaced - battery cable cover - control unit for air conditioning - replace aircon computer - replace telematics control unit - new headlamps fitted recently.
