Introduction
Kulraj Singh Salh
The BMW M5 (E60), a proper super saloon with its V10 / SMG drivetrain powering 500BHP to the rear wheels.
Appraised for it's handling, this model received new and improved traction and stability control plus a limited-slip differential to complement its 50:50 weight distribution. This coupled with the V10 engine and 7 speed gearbox having links to F1 made for a potent mix.
We really like the look of this example, a great choice of colour, well optioned, and importantly having had the rod bearings replaced this summer with a bill to the tune of over ~£5,000.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Kulraj after meeting Martin the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Ask Questions
Hi , interested in a M5 and appreciate yours looks a great example . However price is pitched at a trade price looking at what’s available at this time ! Have you a realistic retail price for a sale
I would be interested in buying for £15k which (imo) would be market price for this car currently
Hi, most of the cars history is Glasgow but the recent brakes/Vanos/big-end work is Crawley and the car is located in London. When did the car move to London and how long have you owned it ? Thanks
In the list of services I count 6 services when a car of this age should have had 8 services. Can you explain why? Also someone did ask why there was no service from 2014 to 2020? But your reply wasn’t clear, could you please answer again?
Many thanks
Hi Kaushik
If you look at the invoices pictured, a service was performed in January 2016 at Douglas Hamilton at 50k miles. Then again in July of 2017 where the car was serviced and sold on by a dealer. In March 2019, the car had a small service with new oil + filter and brake fluid change.
Then as of May 2020: The Rod bearings were changed, so was the Vanos pressure pipe – so that has been sorted, new control arms, new front discs, and a major service. I told specialist BMR Performance to change everything they told me needed replacing on inspection – to the tune of about £5300.
Its had 8/9 services total. Not to mention the last service was a massive engine out job, with major service and rod bearings.
Perfect and thank you. I forgot to ask does it have bluetooth connectivity and have load through, whereby the rear seats can be folded down?
Here is the spec sheet: It has phone bluetooth but for music you would need an aux jack

Hello Sir,
Really nice car, any particular reason the price go up 2K ?
Hi, If you are interested in the car get in touch with the Trade Classics Team and I’m sure we can come to a deal.
Hi,
Lovely car, great to see you took care of it.
I ran a history check and the car is showing with outstanding finance from 05/04/2016 with Creation Consumer Finance Ltd.
Can you advise on this.
Thanks
Hi Cillian,
We use cap-hpi.com for our checks, and it came back as clear, they are one of the leading providers of this information.
We’ve found in the past that other cheaper providers often don’t have all the data. Are you sure you put the registration number in correctly also. I’ll email you a copy of the check we have.
Best,
Kulraj
Thanks Kulraj,
I used car analytics and they came back with those details.
Agreement number is Y8106731X390018. Reg SF08 WEC
Perhaps you or the owner could clarify with Creation Consumer Finance as to why they haven’t cleared it.
Thanks,
Cillian
Do you have a buy it now price in mind
Hi Brian, we’ve just updated the listing to reflect the buy it now price we could secure today. Please feel free to give us a ring to discuss further should you be interested. Best, Kulraj
do you have a buy it now price in mind?
Quick message to let everyone know that the reserve has been lowered on this car. Good luck if you are involved in the bidding this evening. Best, Kulraj
Hi, Why is there no MOT on the car?
Simply because I am not driving it as much, hence the reason to sell. Will put a fresh MOT on for the next buyer and refurbish the wheels as well. – M
Hi
By the way, the M5 looks in pristine condition. And it’s apparent you have taken the upmost care with the car.
Although I do have a few questions to ask, I would greatly appreciate a reply.
I wonder if you know how many previous owners the vehicle has?
Also, how come there was a 6 year gap between services in 2014 to 2020.
Also do you know if the Vanos was
inspected or worked on during the time of the Rod bearings replacement?
Also do you know when the Clutch was last replaced.
Any problems with the throttle actuators or SMG gearbox?
Forgive me with these questions, these beautiful cars have been plagued with these in the past.
Regards
Dave
Good evening Dave, thank you for your comment. The car has 5 previous owners listed on the V5, for a car like this, a high turnover is quite normal as with every other car of this category.
If you look at the invoices pictured, a service was performed in January 2016 at 50k miles. Then again in July of 2017 where the car was serviced and sold on by a dealer. In March 2019, the car had a small service with new oil + filter and brake fluid change.
Then as of May this year: The Rod bearings were changed, so was the Vanos pressure pipe – so that has been sorted, new control arms, new front discs, and a major service. I told specialist BMR Performance to change everything they told me needed replacing on inspection – to the tune of about £5300.
I did ask BMR about the condition of the above parts you mentioned, and I told them to replace if needed. They said the car must have had a clutch change at some point in its life – for they said the car was strong and pulled well on multiple test drives. The throttle actuators did not need replacing as well, and the SMG gearbox performs as it should. If anything needed replacing – it would have been done as I am quite a meticulous owner and like my cars to be in very good order. They would be happy to testify on my behalf.
I hope this answers your question. This is an honest car that is ready for the new owner to enjoy. Have a good night.
Hi what is the reserve?
Hi TriSteve, we run traditional style auctions where the reserve isn’t disclosed. When the bidding has finished tomorrow at 7.30PM, if the reserve has been met, the high bidder is notified. Best, Kulraj
Hi Martin,
I just wanted to ask if the clutch and throttle actuators have been done on your M5? Thanks
Akeel
Hi Akeel,
We sent the car in for an initial inspection asking renowned specialist BMR Performance to replace everything that they said required replacing. The throttle actuators did not need doing, and the clutch was described as strong, after repeated test drives and a thorough inspection. They would be happy to confirm. As you can see with the previous invoice, not a single penny was spared in the rectification of this car. The main big jobs were the: Rod Bearings, Vanos Pressure Pipe, New Front Discs and Pads, Control Arms, and a service. The car has covered less than 300 miles after this.
Hope this helps – M
