Introduction
Jacob Boodrie
A loveable and quirky character, the Citroën 2CV - proving you don't have to go fast to have fun.
The Citroën 2CV was first introduced in 1948 at Paris Mondial de l'Automobile and then manufactured for 42 years.
Inspiration and purpose behind the car was to motorise French farmers who were still using horses and carts. The car featured straightforward metal bodywork, originally corrugated for added strength without weight.
Any car that stays in production for nearly half a century has to be an iconic legend, and the 2CV or (tin snail) is up there with the best of them.
We love the classic french design of the 2CV, especially this very clean and tidy example owned by Jill and restored using original parts in 2015.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Jacob after liaising with Jill the owner.

Do you know anything of the history of your car before 2015? Also how many owners has it had. Thanks. Nick
Nick,
I only know that it had 7 owners before me: all the paperwork is from 2015.

Thanks Nick
When I bought the car I was told the mileage was 43k from new. I have no reason to doubt this.
Hello Gill
In terms of the mileage of 43k I’m assuming your car has been round the clock so 143k. Is that right?
Thanks Nick
Hello Gill
Hi Jill,
So sorry to hear you are having to part with the car because of the arthritis. I imagine the handbrake and gear change process must be painful at best. I hope she goes to a good home. I love these cars.
Carl.
The original chassis was under sealed in 2015 and the under seal remains in good condition. (The chassis has not been galvanised) Hopefully this helps, Jill
Thank you!
Could you please advise whether this has had a galvanised chassis fitted? Thank you!
Hi.
I see there are a couple of service invoices in 2015: has it been serviced since then?
And I see you’re selling it only 5 months after buying – how come? Have you had problems with it?
Really interested – and it looks lovely.
Thanks!
I have loved the car and not had any problems with it. The reason I am selling it on is because I have arthritis in my left hand and I have found it physically demanding. For example, the handbrake requires quite robust handling and this is difficult for me.
Regarding the service record, I provided all the paperwork I had. I h@v3 left a voicemail for the garage I bought it from: hopefully they’ll contact me with details of any service they carried out before I bought it. Hope this helps, Jill
Oh Jill I’m really sorry to hear about the arthritis – and I’m sorry it means you’re having to sell the car. Thanks for the further info and for contacting the garage.
