Introduction
Jacob Boodrie
One of the most beautiful 'modern' Ferraris available, and a rather sensible investment option too.
The Ferrari 328 GTS replaced the iconic 308 in '85 up until '89. Over that time 7,412 were produced in Maranello, Italy - originally designed by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina. The 328 is regarded as one of Ferraris' most accessible '80s models with the lightest maintenance schedule and value for money. The 3.2L dual over cam V8, which produces ~266BHP, flies down the country lanes with ease and turns heads with its intoxicating naturally aspirated roar. The 328 shares the 308's body design, chassis, and engine. It was essentially a revised and updated version of the 308 which survived for eight years without any radical changes.
This lovely "Rosso Corsa" was first registered in the UK in 2005, and has been family owned for the previous ~12 years. It had a major service ~500 miles ago in October 2019 where all belts were replace etc. Sadly this car is subject to a wills and probate sale that is being handled by Michael a good family friend of the previous owner, and one of the executors of the estate.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Jacob after meeting Michael (executor of the will), and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi having just lost a lot of money on a LHD converted to RHD at Silverstone auctions and a 308 GTS can you confirm this was definatly a RHD supplied please .
Hi, Mike is unlikely to be able to confirm this (with this being an estate sale and acting as an executor), but it is worth noting the first registration logged in the service book in 03.01.1988 is to someone in South Africa, and so it is assumed that the car was RHD as per the South African market. The car was imported in to the UK in ~2005. Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
Hi Michael,
Can you confirm if this car is a 1988 model (as indicated on the MOT certificates etc) and not a 1989 Model?
There are several differences that appeared on mid 1988 onwards vehicles. Thanks.
Hi, as per the Ferrari service book, this was is an early 1988 model. It looks to have been incorrectly logged with the DVLA as a 1989. This can often be the case with manual data entry at DVLA, but as pictured the car has the original style concave wheels and does not have ABS. Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
Targa top comes with the car in good order..
This maybe a silly questions. i didnt notice a photo of the targa top. Do you have it ? Can you please post one separately ?
Two brief questions:
1) Does this car have an air-condition ? Does it function ?
2) Does it have ABS ? Some late 328 didnt have
Thanks
Hi,
1) It does have AC looking at the switchgear, but this wasn’t tested
2) Being an early 1988 car, we believe it does not have ABS
Best,

Hi Michael
If you can answer some or all below questions would be appreciated:
* what is the approxinate age of tyres ?
* any visible signs of rust ?
* has the AC unit upgrade to R134a ? new pressure relief valve is needed.
* any maintenance done on rubber parts of Suspension/wishbones
* was the oil seal between transmission and engine oil for shifting shaft replaced
* When was the last valve clearance measurement ?
Thanks !
Was the car a LHD?
First owner was in South Africa so we think it’s always been Rhd.
