Introduction
Alan Stuart
The last iteration and Ferrari's last production 2+2 mid-engined coupe, the T was a revolution that shaped the way for more than just the Mondial.
The Mondial began life in 1980, and had taken over from where the 308GT4 left off, with the same mid-mounted 3L V8, but on a longer wheelbase. The body shape was penned by Pininfarina, creating a comfortable 2+2 with generous accommodation.
With the introduction of the Mondial T in 1989, a number of very important changes took place; power was increased to 300BHP, a transverse-mounted 3.4L V8 (a layout still used today), a wider track, along with some design tweaks to the exterior, and new luxurious interior trim, air-con, and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering.
This example is coming to market from ~5 years ownership. This very car was used as a front cover feature car in August 2018's issue of Classic and Sports Car magazine along with a full article on the Mondial T.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Alan after meeting Martyn the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.
