Introduction
Dom Ginn
A manual F355 is a drivers dream - Rapid acceleration with an incredible soundtrack and beautiful styling.
The F355 Spider debuted in 1995, with its Pininfarina design honed through ~1,800 hours in the wind tunnel, resulting in a blend of elegant style and aerodynamic performance. It bridges the gap between the old small V8s and the more recent 200MPH supercars. It's the last hand-built Ferrari yet the first to embrace modern technology. Ferrari developed the new F129B V8 engine for the F355, using the V12 F1 program to adopt five-valve-per-cylinder heads, which raises the rev limit to a whopping 8,500RPM. Boasting a 6-speed manual transmission, it's a real driver's car ready to take on the road ahead with the ultimate level of control. Push the accelerator to the floor, and you'll feel the performance available here.
This car comes to market from ~17 years ownership, covering ~10,000 miles in that time with the bulk of that being when it was first purchased. With an upgraded Capristo sports exhaust, low mileage, and a recent service in August that included cambelt change, this car is very much ready to go.
This listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Nick the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi NickE, not sure if I missed it but was there an answer to the key fobs question, particularly the red master fob?
Having done 90’s Maseratis I’m assuming the red fob is a big deal..,
Good looking car very well presented btw!
Regards
Patrick
Sorry, seen the responses now added!!
Hi nick.
I am genuinely interested in this having come from 348 ownership. I have similar questions to that below but see no responses…
In addition the engine seems rather tappety, the “cold start” wasn’t actually cold as the temp dial was registering temp. Are there any issues with it at cold? Also the engine appears to be running a bit rough at idle (notable when you are at the T junction in your road test).
Are you able to comment on these points?
Hi. Thank you for the enquiry. Yes, I had driven to the photo site (my house) which warmed it a bit before the start.
I don’t think it has ever had any problems with a cold start and over the years I have never felt that the car missed a beat to be honest. I think the drive is great and has been added to in terms of the whole experience by the sports exhaust. My problem is that I just don’t have any time. I am a surgeon with a young family!
Let me know if you have any further queries.
BW, Nick
Auction Update – The reserve on the car has been removed, and so it is selling with “No Reserve” and will sell to the highest bidder on Thursday night. Good luck if you’re involved in the bidding. Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
I’m afraid the last major belt service in August 2023 done by a local London ‘under-arches’ classic Porsche enthusiast doesn’t exactly inspire my confidence. Is it possible to have the car inspected by well established F355 specialist such as Autofficina before closing?
Hi. Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, the car was with Tower who are excellent and they reconditioned the hood mechanism and did work on the roof and some bits. The service was organised at Foskers. Very happy for any inspection. Just let me know if any further queries.
Hi NickE,
Can you please answer the following:
How many fobs (is the master red with the set?)
Where was the accident and what happened?
When were the CATS last replaced as these are a notorious weak point? Were the manifolds looked at when the cambelt service was done?
Are all the books (including original warranty book noting chassis number etc.) and leather wallet with the car?
Hood operation. 355 are notorious for going wrong and very expensive to fix. In the video I can see you ‘helping’ the roof to operate. How is it actually functioning in reality as the video misses an important open and close procedure.
Does the ai con blow cold and does the heater work and flap under front bonnet?
Do you have the missing trim panel in the engine that covers the battery terminal?
Was the engine actually removed on the last cambelt service in August as it seems very grimy and complete with cobweb. Or did they go via the fuel tank?
Is the tool kit present?
Thanks.
Hi there. Thank you for your enquiry. See also answer below re the cat D.
The cambelt service was done at Foskers Ferrari organised by Tower Porsche and I was told that this involved removing the engine but I could potentially find out more. The hood operation is not a great design in the 355 as you rightly say. I had it reconditioned at the last service and have photos for that. I always give it some help! I have the engine trim panel. I don’t have the tool box. I took it for a run tonight to check the AC. It was not great and I will pay for that to be corrected or deduct from price.
ps I have the books and wallet

Have you any photos of the accident damage
Hi, What was the Cat D damage? Who fixed it up? What’s the story?
Hi there. Thank you for your enquiry and apologies for the delay in replying. I don’t have a record of the reason for the Cat D. I have had the car for a few years and nobody has detected any sign of discernible damage. I bought the car from Verdi Ferrari. Let me know if any other queries.
