Introduction

Alan Stuart
Professional Consigner

The 360 Spider needs little introduction, beautifully engineered, rapid performance and Pininfarina styling, Ferrari delivers some of its finest work here.

The follow up to the incredibly successful F355, ushered in a new era of Ferrari design with the 360. The previous decades sharp angles were replaced with svelte lines and a fully aluminium construction that was 40% stiffer than its predecessor's which had utilized steel. These updates made for a 28% lighter design and slightly larger body size adding additional usability of the newer style Ferrari's. The Spider features a power top that hides under a sleek, hard tonneau cover when down. Raising and lowering the top is an automatic process that takes just ~20 seconds either way. Reinforced floorpans and bulkhead areas, along with roll hoops, ensure that the Spider is structurally sound.

This example is showing ~64,562 miles from new, coming out of ~2 and half years ownership, with a fresh major belts service in line with the manufacturers guidelines. In the current ownership the car has had some ~£11,000 maintenance that has included major works on the suspension. With just 4 former keepers, a clean MOT in November 2022, and the belts service just actioned, this car is very much ready for a new owner to enjoy.

This listing was written from information supplied by Alan after meeting Ruan the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

The Ferrari 360 has been my favourite car for a number of years now, having the opportunity to own one has been a dream come true.

Having owned a few sports cars in his time, Ruan, the current owner for the past ~2 and a half years tells us "It's the supercar quality and performance that I just love about this car, I've really enjoyed it over the past couple of years".

He's covered ~2,500 miles over that time, both using the car and improving it with the works he has had actioned. Things like the suspension which are regular maintenance items, and he has been working through some of the typical sticky plastics to the interior. He's just had the car put through a major service with belts renewed, should there be any questions required, Ruan would be happy to answer these in the section below.

Exterior

The 360 boasts attention-grabbing looks, with aerodynamic purpose and looks fast even when standing still!

Wheels and Tyres

The car is fitted with a lovely set of 18” 5-spoke 360 Spider alloys which look great around all four corners, the wheels having been refurbished in March 2021. Ruan opted to keep the centre caps with the car for originality, as the new replacements on offer from Ferrari are actually a different design with larger prancing horse.

The Ferrari is equipped with a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres with a spec of 275/40 to the rear and 215/45 on the front. The condition of tyres looks great overall with no signs of major wear having been replaced alongside the wheel refurb in March 2021. Please take a look at the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior of the Ferrari and a closer look at the wheels and tyres.

Bodywork

The bodywork really stands out from the crowd and features air intakes on the nose and rear sections that work with the wind to pull the car down to the road the faster the car is driven. Overall this is a really lovely example with all shut lines, panel gaps and edges aligning very well. We noted no major knocks, dings or warping to the exterior on our visit. On the rear of the Ferrari, a real highlight is the glass covered engine. Looking down through the large hatch at the Ferrari badged V8 makes it obvious that this is a special car.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

The "Rosso Corsa" paint is a truly beautiful colour and one that never looks out of place on one of these cars. We did note stone chips looking around the car in line with the mileage to the front and lower aero sections on the sills. There was a sizeable mark on the base of the drivers door which showed the aluminium coming through. A few other points to note, there were markings where the hood section has rubbed slightly on the paint and the odd chip too, and there is lacquer peel visible to the top of the offside front wing as pictured.

Again, we have taken high resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves. The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these high resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The windscreen section and side windows all appear in good condition and we could see no sign of major scratching on the main glass sections. There were a few signs of stone chipping noted and a wiper blade mark on the front windscreen which is likely original. Windscreen surround trim looks good but we noted a little sign of colour fade to the metal edging.

The roof looks in good condition, and operates as it should do. The car has the "Challenge" grill installed to the rear which further adds to the appeal. We've highlighted our overview in our exterior review video for a closer look.

Interior

The Ferrari cabin space just screams luxury with its beautiful details, quality choice of materials and well maintained appearance.

Seats and Carpets

The seats are comfortable and supportive and feature lumbar adjustments. The "Tan" leather is stunning and marks a real sign of luxury in the cabin. A particular highlight was the prancing horse emblem embossed into the headrests and colour matched seat edge piping, a quality touch.

Carpets look great looking through the interior and the red tone added another great sense of Ferrari luxury to the cabin area. We noted no major issues with any of the carpet sections and it's apparent the car's interior has been well looked after. We've captured high-resolution photos and a full interior video tour through the car. This covers off the angles inside the car for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here in our interior review section.

Dashboard

Beautiful leathers, highlighted by brushed aluminium complement the 360's interior. Large gauges on the dash give a great display for the driver and show with all the dials, controls and switches in great shape. The dashboard is cleanly presented, with no scuffs or marks noted.

The only areas we noted if we were being picky, were some of the soft touch plastics that have started to become a little sticky to the touch especially in the hotter weather. The door handle inside the car had signs of wear and the plastic had started to degrade a little. Ruan, the current owner, has started to replace and refurbish many of these sections but some still remain. Please take a look at the gallery images for a closer look at the interior sections.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The three-spoke race inspired Ferrari steering wheel is in great condition and has a chunky feel to it with good grip. The wheel showed with no major wear to the edge and the black finish complimented the rest of the interior well.

Paddle shift levers behind the wheel looked good and the F1 auto transmission system in the centre section showed well having a race inspired feel to it.

Mechanics

The 360 Spider is a breathtaking supercar, powered by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated 3.6L V8, the F1 semi-automatic transmission can take the car from 0-60 in ~4.6 seconds.

Engine and Gearbox

We noted no issues on the start up of the car with the engine and exhaust running smoothly when we visited. The car drives well with its transmission working smoothly on the road. The performance of the 360 is truly incredible with an output of ~395BHP. The engine has just had a major service which included timing belts being renewed in line the maintenance schedule.

The F1 gearbox was functioning very nicely and is a real masterpiece in the car, this shifted without concern and slotted itself into drive modes without any issues. We show the 360 on its test drive out with the optional paddle shift working through the manual gear override. The clutch on the Ferrari was replaced in November 2020 by a previous owner at a cost of over ~£3,000. We took the car on a short drive and it went through the motions without issue. Please watch the on the road video to see the detail and the car in action.

Suspension and Brakes

Ride feel is great on the Ferrari, ultimately it is a little firmer than some other cars given its more sporty nature, but felt comfortable when out in it. We observed no problems with the Ferrari's handling when we were out on the roads. In the current ownership, the suspension has been maintenance as detailed in the invoices.

The large cross-drilled race-style discs felt to have no pull or vibrations that stood out to us when on the journey and brought the car to a stop without a problem. The Ferrari branding on the brake callipers was another great detail.

The Drive

Ferrari is all about delivering a smooth ride and thrilling experience and the 360 Spider delivers that perfectly. Adaptive, quick, responsive and superbly fun, there's a reason why Ferrari are some of the best Supercars on the market courtesy of their incredible handling as well as their speed.

Compared to its predecessor, the F355, the 360 has a more accommodating cabin, due to the car's larger dimensions which is great for providing more comfort and luggage capacity. Overall, the 360 easily proves itself as a thrilling drive either on road or track as well as a car that has a good amount of usability.

Electrics and Other

Many of the interfaces and buttons in the cabin area of the 360 have been replaced or refurbished by the current owner. The air con was working well on our drive out in the car, cooling the interior nicely. The Ferrari hosts a stereo system in its centre dash area.

A great feature on the Spider is a power soft top roof which opens and closes with ~20 seconds on either action. Ruan let us know that he has had no issues with the electrical elements on the car and to the best of his knowledge, everything was working as it should do.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market from ~2.5 year ownership, it has seen ~£11,000 worth of maintenance in that time, and has just had a fresh major belts service actioned.

The 360 Spider has benefitted from good levels of care to it over its history. We detail the paperwork and records of the servicing and works carried out in our paperwork gallery section where the servicing has been completed by Ferrari official dealerships and independent specialists. The car comes with the original users manual, servicing book and leather bound tan leather folder which are included with the sale and also is complete with 2 sets of keys.

The Ferrari's engine and gearbox mounts were renewed along with the oil pressure sensor in February 2021. All four wheels were refurbished and new tyres were fitted in March 2021 which cost over ~£1,100. In June 2021 the vehicle firmware was updated, in July 2021, aspects of the suspension were renewed costing over ~£2,800 and in November 2021, the rear tie rods were renewed costing ~£744. In June 2023, a major service was completed costing £3,430 and included, amongst other parts; new cam seals, valve cover gaskets, new timing belts, new brake fluid, timing belt as well as restorative work to the rear rocker cover. Prior to the current ownership, in November 2020 a new clutch, cambelt, a/c belt, alternator belt, water pump belt and second hand oxygen sensor were installed costing ~£3,162.

Should there be any questions required, Ruan would be happy to answer these in the section below.
