Introduction

Jacob Boodrie
Professional Consigner

Designer Frank Stephenson helped Pininfarina style the F430, with its broad hips and more modern design.

In 2004 the F430 replaced the 360 Modena as Ferrari's mid-engined V8 model, unveiled at the Paris motorshow, the traditional 3.6L was replaced with a brand new 4.3L unit. The newly designed engine produced ~483bhp, revving up to a redline of 8,500rpm with a great bark. The F430 has a top speed of ~196mph, and dispatches the 0-60mph sprint ~3.6 seconds.

This example comes to market from ~6.5 year ownership, just 4 former keepers and with a low mileage of just ~13,270. It comes with 13 main dealer service stamps and history that details upkeep and maintenance of this supercar. Presented in an attractive "Rosso Corsa" over "Crema" colourway, it's a lovely original specification which gives the Ferrari that extra appeal, and arguably most importantly is a rare gated manual example, something for the collectors we think.

This listing was written from information supplied by Jacob after meeting Chris the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

The Ferrari never fails to excite me or anyone within the vicinity of it, what a beautiful think and with the convertible roof down, I just love driving it.

Chris has owned this Ferrari for the previous ~6.5 years. Over that time he has only used the F430 for special occasional journeys, he hasn't missed a service with his local main dealers; Carrs Ferrari in Exeter, whereby the car is picked up on a trailer to prevent additional mileage being added to the car.

He would love to keep the F430 as part of his collection, although he's gone for a proper classic in a Mercedes-Benz Pagoda for his weekend trips, and so he has decided to part with the Ferrari to free up the garage space. Chris will be on hand to answer any questions on the car in the comments below.

Exterior

Beautifully and aerodynamically designed to emulate the coupe as closely as possible - the F430 remains strikingly modern.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19" F430 Spider wheels finished in silver with yellow centre caps look great on this car. On this example, the condition is in line with the limited use the car has seen, we didn't spot and obvious signs of age or damage etc.

The wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres and these appear to also be in great condition, dated 2016 at the rear and 2017 at the front with a good amount of tread remaining and no visible cracking or signs of age to the sidewalls.

Bodywork

The bodywork of this Ferrari looks in great condition, with all the panel gaps around the car looking to align very well. During our visit we didn't spot any obvious dents on the car, everything looking crisp and sharp while standing very straight and true, and no signs of corrosion were spotted.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

Finished in this iconic and ever popular "Rosso Corsa" (322) paintwork, the paint is finished to a lovely standard, with even coverage and colour across each panel. As you'd expect, there aren't really any defects we noted, just one or two small stone chips to the front end as pictured, and the lower sections of the car needing a bit of a clean.

Again, we have taken hi-resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork and paint for yourselves.

Glass and Trim

The glass on this F430 example looks great and in line with the low mileage and ownership, we didn't notice any chips, cracks, or discolouration on our visit. The window seals look good too and in line with the rest of the condition of the car.

The black trim and window surrounds all look in good condition too, the black trim elements would benefit from a deeper clean/detail. Take a look at the exterior photos to see the convertible hood in great condition with no tears or rips.

Interior

A proper sports car, the gated manual shifter the star of the show, a classic and popular colour adorns the cabin of this Ferrari.

Seats and Carpets

The "Crema" leather "Daytona" seats with red detailing have held their shape very well over the years, as you would expect for cherished and careful ownership. The seats represent the ~13,000 well and the level of care Chris has given the car over his ownership.

A similar story is told with the leather door cards and red carpets. We noticed some very slight wear/paint discolouration behind both head rests, not much else came to our attention. Please take a look at the extensive media for a detailed view of the cabin.

Dashboard

A iconic F1 inspired dashboard is covered in a black leather, with the "Giallow"/yellow rev counter taking centre stage.

The dashboard in this F430 shows no signs of any damage or scuffs. With no warning lights displayed, the odometer showed a reading of ~13,270 miles on our visit.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A Ferrari F430 wheel is fitted, with the starter button on one side and the "Manettino" drive select dial on the other. The original steering wheel presents in great condition in line with the mileage of this car, the manual gearstick and gated surround look amazing too, arguably the star of the show on this car. Take a look at the image gallery to see the detail.

Mechanics

Pop the roof down and enjoy the sound of the F430 Spider’s 32-Valve, eight cylinder soundtrack.

Engine and Gearbox

The V8 chain driven Ferrari engine on display under a glass cover for all to see and hear, on the day of our visit we started the car from cold, and the car performed out on the road the engine pulled nicely, idled smoothly, and ran without fault. This is to be expected of course, given the mileage and servicing history with Ferrari, this car last serviced last year/~500 miles ago.

Chris reports the car starts from cold with no issues and drives well with its smooth manual gearbox powering the rear wheels. Take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting from cold, driving around, and for a closer look underneath the F430, and the smart engine bay.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension appears in good condition and provided a smooth stable and composed journey on the sweeping country roads.

On our short drive in the car, it felt just as you'd expect for a Ferrari from this era, powerful, loud and incredibly well balanced, coming to a stop without a fuss too.

The Drive

A real people pleaser, the Ferrari F430 is a joy to drive, be a passenger in and admired by on lookers. With the roof down and the V8 planted behind you, you're offered the finest eight cylinder hi-fi.

As mentioned previously Chris has reserved the Spider for limited trips around his local town, and country roads. The F430 fired up the first time with no issues to report. On the road we didn’t notice any unusual noises coming from the engine or suspension either.

Electrics and Other

We didn’t test all the electrics during our visit, but Chris reports that to his knowledge all of the electrics are functional and operational, in line with the rest of the condition of the car. Take a look at the on the road video to see the convertible roof functioning without fault.

History and Paperwork

A rare and collectable F430 Spider in a popular colourway, manual gated gearbox, just ~13,270 miles covered and with 13 main dealer service stamps, we think this will be a popular car on auction.

The car is coming out of a ~6.5 year ownership with Chris. The car has bags of originality and with the Ferrari 4.3L V8 engine and stylish yet extremely aerodynamic shell. The car comes with a its original radio/media player, unused AutoGlym Lifeshine Ferrari cleaning set, and complete Ferrari F430 tool kit with tyre inflation kit. Take a look at this history and paperwork media to see the previous MOT reports, main dealer servicing and the original brochure Chris is selling this car with.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

Hi Chris,

How many keys do you have for the car? Only one is showing on the photos as far as I can see and there ought to be a minimum of two ideally three…

Please could you let me know how many you have by return?

With sincere thanks in advance,

Tom
