Introduction
Dom Ginn
Ford’s supermini of the '90s brought a new modern look to the range with its sleek lines.
The Ford Puma 1.7 is a compact coupé that excels in both performance and design. With a choice of engines from a 1.4-litre, 1.6-litre, or the more powerful 1.7-litre Zetec-S engine which delivers 123bhp, it ensures a lively and responsive drive. Its lightweight construction and well-tuned suspension provide a perfect balance of comfort and agility, with precise steering that makes every journey a joy.
Visually, the Puma stands out from the crowd, while the interior offers supportive seats and a driver-focused layout. It is also very practical, with ample storage space and respectable fuel economy, making it a very usable and enjoyable modern classic to own.
Quite possibly one of the lowest mileage and original Ford Pumas on the market today.
With one owner and just over ~17,470 miles, this is sure to generate a lot of interest among enthusiasts and collectors alike.
This listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Terry the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Terry
Thanks for the heads up on the paint.
Understand the as required service schedule due to low mileage just need to factor in a little light recomisioning as if lucky enough to secure the wining bid I intend to use the car!
New cambelt, brake fluid etc also repair/replace the rear silencer that appears to have already received a couple of temporary repairs?
Also the expansion tank seems very low or empty of water/antifreeze and the front top leading edge of the radiator is rusty.
Hopefully both not indicators of a loss of coolant and resulting overheating of the engine?
Sorry I do understand the car is no longer brand new and will like any car need something….
Just trying to ensure my next bid is appropriate for me.
Many Thanks
Clive
Hi Clive
With reference to the cooling the expansion tank has coolant in it, it is 5 mm below the min line, it just needs topping up. and changing if you wish. The engine is A1 it runs like a dream. The exhaust is fine it has no holes and has not been repaired. the two areas you mention is just the silver paint coming off. The car has just sailed through it’s MOT in July
First an update on the paintwork. Yes there is a very small area (50 mm) on the top wing leading edge. it can’t be seen unless you look very close, slight bubbling. That is the only place.
Regards
Terry
Hi Paul
It was Dom Ginn the reviewer who mentioned the “corrosion”. To be honest I haven’t even seen it myself so it must be small. Give me some time and I will get back to you tomorrow. As for the underneath pic’s, if you look at the mechanical photos there are a few of those in that section. The car has never been used in bad weather either rain or snow, only on dry days. You will not be disappointed with this Puma.
Regards
Terry
Hi – can you say more about the small corrosion on the wing? It’s difficult to spot in the photos, but it’s important to know if it is really just a stone chip, or whether there is corrosion from inside the wing. Pumas are renowned for that! Is is possible to get photos of the underneath?
Thanks, Paul
Hi Terry
Just following up on Gary’s question.
Is the paint all original?
It does look lovely
Thanks
Clive
Hi Clive
Yes as I have just said to Gary, it is totally original paintwork which has been looked after since new. it looks like it came out of showroom.
Hi Terry,
Has the car had any previous paintwork or is it totally original paint ?
Thank you Gary.
Hi Gary
The paintwork is totally original. it looks just like it has come out of showroom.
Hi Terry, I can see the early dealer servicing, plus the cambelt change in 2010. Has there been any other servicing?
Hi No regular annual servicing as such as most recent years the car hasn’t done a lot of mileage. i have changed the oil/filter periodically and kept everything mobile. The front brake calipers have been replaced the nearside caliper was changed just before the MOT in July. The fuel pump was replaced also about 4 years ago.
Thank you
