The Honda S2000 was first introduced in 1999 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Honda and was produced for ten years - during that time, only 8,000 came to the UK.
The car was given the chassis designation AP1 and featured a bulletproof 1,997cc inline four-cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine. The F-series engine in the S2000 held the crown for the highest specific output of a naturally aspirated engine for ten years, only being dethroned with the launch of the Ferrari 458.
The output was thanks to the 11.7:1 compression ratio, roller rocker valve train, variable valve timing (VVT), and impressive 1.82:1 rod-to-stoke ratio that let the 2-litre engine hit 9,000 rpm.
