Introduction
Paul Wright
The ultimate revving machine – capable of revving so high, you’d think it was a motorbike.
The Honda S2000 was first introduced in 1999 to celebrate Honda’s 50th anniversary and was produced for ten years. During that time, only ~8,000 units made it to the UK. The car featured a bulletproof 1,997cc inline four-cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine. The F-series engine in the S2000 held the crown for the highest specific output of a naturally aspirated engine for ten years, only being dethroned with the launch of the Ferrari 458.
This impressive output was achieved thanks to an 11.7:1 compression ratio, roller rocker valvetrain, variable valve timing (VVT), and an exceptional 1.82:1 rod-to-stroke ratio, allowing the 2.0-litre engine to hit a spine-tingling 9,000 rpm.
Finished in "Formula Red", this beautifully presented 2009 example comes from ~1.5 years ownership with our vendor with an excellent service history and has covered just ~60,691 well-cared-for miles. It comes with a current MOT valid until 07.08.2025, and being a late 2009 car is believed to be one of the last 355 made.
