Introduction
Glyn Parry
Around 8 years after the launch of the XJS Jaguar released the XJ-SC in 1983, featuring a Targa style roof with folding rear section.
After another 5 years a proper convertible version of the XJS was made available which replaced the XJ-SC. With the introduction of the XJ-SC a new engine was available; the 3.6L straight-six. The straight-six was the only engine available for the first couple of years of the XJ-SC's production run. The 5.3L V12 version did make it to market in 1985.
This particular car is the later V12, it comes to market with only ~37,000 on the clock, with plenty of provenance and paperwork to back it up including 21 service records and MOT history to verify mileage. It is coming to market from a private collection of low mileage Jaguar and other British classics, and recent work in July 2022 to this XJ-SC includes; a complete engine, ignition, A/C and braking system service at a cost of £2,174, with the car being in storage since. The car comes to market with just 1 previous owner, 2 registered when transferred from company to private ownership, you'll be hard pressed to find an example like this.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Heritage Classics who are handling the sale for a private collector.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Good evening bidders… you’re soooo near the reserve… remember high bidders get first refusal… Adam
They are available, they aren’t particularly easy to fit and use so they do come up reasonably often. Bear in mind this is only for the rear window portion of the roof, they are not complete hard tops, nor were they ever. I did see one currently on either the Jaguar Enthusiast or the Jaguar Drivers site.
Is there a hard top that one could buy?
The car is not being sold with a hardtop I’m afraid. In terms of fuel – yes!
If my bid is successful – is there enough fuel to drive to Woburn?
Does it still come with the hard top as listed last time?
Hi
I notice the original invoice from Guy Salmon is in fact for a different car, different reg no and also different trim??
I can confirm that there are 3 registration numbers within the MOT certificates all referencing the same chassis number – so the cars’ original number was changed for a personal registration which, when removed, was replaced with an age related registration number, so all is in order. Presumably the cars’ original registration was no longer available.
Hello viewers
Just to say that I’m selling the car on behalf of the owner who is a personal friend, so in effect it is not a trade sale, its a private sale overseen by myself. Also that I have access to the car should there be any questions or request to view – please just ask.
Thanks, Paul
