Introduction
Glyn Parry
The product of JaguarSport - the XJR-S was the ultimate performance variant of the classic grand tourer.
Produced as a collaboration between Jaguar and TWR, the XJR-S was a hardcore expression of the classic XJS grand tourer, offered initially with a 5.3L HE V12 configuration. The car was manufactured and intended to capitalise on Jaguar's recent victories, winning the Le Mans for the sixth year in a row and it's new World Sportscar Championship title in 1987.
An XJR-S can be visually distinguished from its drag-reducing body kit, matt black radiator grille, and special Speedline alloys. As well as visual queues, the car benefited from many performance upgrades in the form of revised suspension (uprated front springs, modified rear radius arms, re-valved Bilstein shock absorbers) and focused power-assisted steering.
This example coming to market is one of 226 produced featuring the 5.3L V12 finished in "Signal Red", coming to market from 3 years ownership, and family ownership from new before that. With ~29,000 miles on the clock and a great amount of service history, this should attract enthusiasts and collectors alike.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Kevin the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi Kevin
A few of Q’s I need to ask before bidding:-
1. Is the paintwork original or has the car been resprayed / touched-up?
2. The underneath looks solid on the video but the pre-1991 cars were prone to rust. What is the situation underneath?
3. The odometer issue looks like it was some kind of mistake at the MOT, can you shed any light on that?
Many thanks,
Steve.
hi Steve
Totally original paintwork.
No rust anywhere …underneath is rust free..
The car has never been driven in wet weather and has spent all of its life in a garage !
The MOT reading was a mistake.
All the best
Kevin ?
Sorry for the question mark was supposed to be a thumbs up ….
Thank you, that’s all I need to know.
Hi Richard
The only thing the car needs is an electric aerial
Have tried to source,,,
I’ve brought a 1976 Mercedes SL … so its just a matter of garage space
Regards
Kevin
Thank you for getting back to me.

Hello Kevin.
It looks like you have a lovely car.
Just a couple of questions
Is there any obvious work that may need doing to the car, both cosmetic or mechanical?
What is the reason for seller after short ownership?
Regards
Richard Barnfather.
