Introduction
Alan Stuart
The last of the old-school Jaguars, they have a huge cult following and the stock of the XJS has been rising steadily over time.
Development for the XJS started in the late 60’s and, when it became available in 1975, a 21-year production run began that made it Jaguars longest running model. As the successor to the E-Type the XJ-S had a tough act to follow but Jaguar didn’t play safe, using aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer to pen the initial design. One of the first designers to apply aerodynamic principles to mainstream production cars, Sayer died tragically in 1970 and the design mantle was picked up by Jaguars in house team.
The car was launched with a 3.6-litre six-cylinder engine before Jaguar announced the 5.3L V12 in 1985; outputting impressive figures of ~291BHP.
This car comes fresh to auction, having been in the careful hands of Pete for the past 5 years, finished in arguably the best colour combination, Signal Red over Magnolia and has clearly been cherished by its fastidious owners.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Alan after meeting Pete the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
The car does look in really good condition.
Can I ask does the Fenair air-conditioning system completely replace the old R 12 system or is it just supplementary to the existing?
The Fenair system is a complete replacement air conditioning system developed by http://www.fenair.co.uk who have replacement systems for a range of other classic cars such as Bentley and Aston Martin.
It was recommended to me by the Jaguar Enthusiast club.
Hi Peter, the car looks a credit to you, can you confirm if the pictures of the offside sill are correct and show rust it looks like this is around the front wheel jacking point.
Thanks for the compliment…it has won prizes at events….I can’t see corrosion around the jack points
There is a cover which has never been used as the car has been stored in a heated dehumidified garage and there is no bubble rust on the body. The MOT expires on 24th October 2022 and the car is currently road taxed. I currently insure the vehicle under a classic car policy with a limited mileage of 3000 miles per year at a cost of £125 per year.
Hi. Is this car showing any rust underneath OR under the floor mats as this is not clear from pictures. Was this dry stored? Any bubble appearing around wings, bumper, bonnets or rear bumper or wheel arch area? do you have a cover for this car? When MOT EXPIRES ? Does it need a road tax? if so how much and what is the current insurance premium?
thank you
