Introduction
Jon Dixon
Low ownership, low mileage, convertible variants like this don't come to sale very often, in arguably the best colour of sapphire blue metallic.
The XJS is a luxury grand tourer produced by Jaguar from 1975 to '96, it was based on the XJ saloon platform and was noted for the unique prominent rear flying buttresses with early styling drawn by Jaguar's best aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer.
The later Celebration models featured the bullet proof AJ16 straight-six 4.0-litre engine. In '95 the final spec changes were made and the car was referred to as the 'Celebration' model to celebrate the 60th year of Jaguar Cars. These cars featured diamond-turned wheels, Jaguar embossed seats, and wooden/leather steering wheel all found in this example. Coming out of 8 years ownership, this car is effectively one former keeper back to 1995 (the dealership registered the car for a short while before).
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Jon after meeting Greg the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Greg what forms of payment do you take? do you take Credit Cards?
Hi Amerthyst, the buyers premium is taken via the card you’ve registered with us. With regards they payment of the high bid value to the seller, as per our terms, this needs to be a bank transfer in line with UK money laundering protection rules. Thanks, Kulraj – Trade Classics
I went to see one of these cars last year and the body looked very good in the pictures, however once I got there to see the car every panel had some quite bad scratches and minor, can you confirm that the panels on your car are as good as they look in the photos on this Trade Classics auction.
Regards Steve
Hi Steve, thank you for your comment. The car does not have any scratches and does look as good as the pictures. However, on the boot lid there is a small blemish about the size of a pound coin where a bird dropping had been left and the acid has attacked the lacquer but is difficult to see. This was present when I purchased the car, nearly 8 years ago. I had considered having the boot lid sprayed but since this car is totally original in every aspect, I decided to leave it.
The bonnet has had some very small stone chips touched up professionally and are hardly noticeable.
This car is truly exceptional and you would have a hard job to find one in such original good condition.
I will be very sad to see her go but unfortunately age has caught up with me.
I will be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
All the best and good luck
Greg
Lovely car. Can you confirm the last time the car went to a Jaguar specialist and it had a major check over? Timing etc?
Thank you.
Hi John, with regard to the Jaguar servicing
The car had its 1st service at 8,372 by T W R JAGUAR, COVENTRY.
That was the 10,000 miles service in accordance with the latest schedule applicable to the vehicle.
2nd service 13,009 applicable to 20,000 at T W R JAGUAR
3rd service 22,608 applicable to 30,000 by T W R JAGUAR
4TH Service at 34,338 applicable to 40,000 by Stratstone JAGUAR, Edinburgh.
I purchased the car at 34,800 miles since then I had it serviced at 37,219 miles applicable to the 50,000 mile service Hartest Garage, not a JAGUAR dealer.
At 38,789 I had oil and filter service only by non JAGUAR dealer.
Finally, serviced on 29.3.2021 at 39,819 for oil, filters and spark plugs. Full brake overhaul and brake fluid change. By a classic car specialist.
Kind regards
Greg
