Introduction
Colin Bashford
This run out model was launched to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Jaguar, giving the car a host of new features and the all important AJ16 engine.
The Jaguar XJS took the daunting place of replacing the iconic E-Type. Entering production in 1975, over ~115,000 cars were built. Sharing a platform with the XJ of the time, the XJS brought a sleeker coupe body. This XJS Celebration is fitted with the 4.0L straight-six mated to the 4-speed ZF automatic gearbox. With a power output of ~238BHP giving a 0-60mph sprint of ~7.4 seconds. The Celebration model arrived in 1995, a year before the production run of the XJS finished in 1996. It was the final model of the XJS range before being replaced by the XK8.
This car comes to market after ~17 years ownership with only 2 previous owners recorded. Finished in the period colour of "Oyster Gold" over "Oatmeal" leather interior. With ~71,000 miles on the clock, it presents in good condition and could be a good value buy for the winning bidder.

The V5 shows the XJS with this registration number as being blue was it gold when you bought it or did you change the colour
Thanks
Dear Cora,
Apologies for the delay in responding to you.
When I bought the car, it was painted in oyster gold (1985). Its colour was a major factor in my purchase as it seemed to suit the shape and style of the car A few years later I had the car undersealed by a specialist garage. Before this any underbody rust or corrosion were removed (receipts for this work are available.) In this process, no signs of blue paint were seen. I presumed that either the colour of the car had been a mistake when registered, or it had been resprayed; I do not know which. I saw no need to report this to DVLA and all subsequent bodywork has always been sprayed in oyster gold.

Hi
I noticed when the car was running the oil pressure was showing a very low reading, has this been checked out or is it a genuine reading ?
Hi Vinnie,
There has never been any problem with this car regarding usage of oil or oil pressure. Last month it was serviced and thoroughly checked by a Jaguar specialist.
Thank you for your reply
