Elegant, luxurious and powerful - the XKR is a fantastic car and this one is a bobby dazzler with not one service having been missed - EVER!

A stunningly beautiful car, the Jaguar XK8 first hit the world stage at the Geneva Motor Show in 1996. The Fergus Pollock styled sports car held true to tradition and reflected a modern take on Jaguar sports cars of the past with more than a nod to the E-Type. Available in convertible or coupe form, 91,406 cars were produced with many exported to the US market.

Sharing a platform with the Aston Martin DB7, the XK8 replaced the highly successful XJS range. It also introduced the highly innovative 32 valve AJ-V8 engine, the first ever Jaguar manufactured V8. Previous V8 Jaguars having been equipped with a Daimler unit.

The Supercharged “R” model was added to the range in 1998 and the engine capacity enlarged to 4.2 litres in 2002. This gave the car over 400BHP, a governed top speed of 155mph and a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds.

Coming to auction with a full Jaguar service history, is this supercharged 'R' model - the very best of the XK8 range. The stunning Ultraviolet paintwork, impeccable Ivory leather interior and smooth, effortless power delivery all combine to make what must be one of the best examples available.

Exterior

Feline stance, feminine lines and sense of purpose – this is every inch a Jaguar.

Wheels and Tyres

The 20-inch BBS Perseus wheels painted in Anthracite present in excellent condition and along with the brake calipers are incredibly clean, reflecting diligent ownership.

The wheels are shod with Pirelli 255/35 ZR tyres all round and all appear to have good tread remaining.

Bodywork

The car stands straight, shut lines appear good and doors, bonnet and boot all open and close cleanly and precisely; exactly as they should. We could see no signs of damage, dents or dings, and overall this XKR presents beautifully.

Paint

Fantastic Ultraviolet paintwork is even and consistent with a deep shine. Incredible condition for a car that's now seventeen years old now.

Glass and trim appear excellent and the windows and mirrors are clear, without chips and free from scratching.

Interior

Luxurious interior combining Ivory leather trim with trademark Jaguar Burr Walnut dash make this cabin a fantastic place to be.

Seats and Carpets

The leather is stunning, it has clearly been well looked and looks to reflect the mileage shown. Also the beautifully clean carpets are entirely consistent with the overall condition of this car. The original door cappings have been replaced with Ivory leather which suit the rest of the interior perfectly.

Dashboard

The stately, Jaguar trademark, Burr Walnut dash is in great shape and really adds to the comfort and luxury of the interior.

Mechanics

Smooth, effortless power delivery from Jaguars Eaton supercharged, 32 valve AJ-V8 engine.

Engine and Gearbox

This car is equipped with the 4.2 Litre Jaguar V8 and Eaton Supercharger delivering over 400BHP though a 5-speed automatic gearbox which also allows 2,3,4 and 5th gears to be selected manually.

As can be seen from the Cold Start video, the car starts easily from cold and idles smoothly and without hesitation.

Suspension and Brakes

Fitted with 12.8-inch front and 12-inch rear rotors, the brakes look fantastic and we are assured work equally well.

This being a Jaguar packing over 400bhp, you can be assured the brakes are engineered to stop the car when needed.

The Drive

Everything you would expect and more! Quiet effortless cruising combined with serious sports car acceleration. The ride is smooth, surefooted and inspires confidence.

Electrics and Other

We are assured by the owner that all the electrics work exactly as they should - no issues were noticed on our trip out. This XKR is equipped with the original satellite navigation system and upgraded Alpine audio.

History and Paperwork

What an opportunity - a stunning, low mileage, well looked after Jaguar in immaculate condition.

These coupe versions are becoming harder to find and one in this condition is unusual indeed. Up there with Aston Martin for performance, these cars offer fantastic value. Perfect for the post lockdown, 2022 summer.

As well as being one of the best examples we’ve ever seen, this XKR comes with a full Jaguar service history, original documentation, MOT certificates and invoices for works carried out. In addition, the previous owner has researched the full history of the car and a note detailing its origins and previous ownership is included.

All this points to diligent and conscientious ownership. Great care has been taken to ensure this fantastic example gets all the attention it needs.
