Introduction

Paul Wright
Professional Consigner

A stunning two-seater sports car in the configuration that most people consider to be the sweet spot of the range - the desirable 'S' model that has a fantastic balance of power and handling.

The Jaguar F-Type was big news when launched in 2013; the F-type was praised as being the sportiest Jaguar since the XJ220, and the eager press and public were not disappointed. As a genuine two-seater sports car, not only did the F-Type coupe and roadster undercut their rivals for the price, but also filled a niche that slotted in between the V8 market and the compact mainstream sports car.

Visually taking more than a fair share of styling cues from the C-X16 concept car, the 3.0-litre cars were available with two engine options, with this V6 S model being the most sought-after / higher performance version. It has ~40hp more power and results in 3/10s of a second quicker in the 0-60 time - so a big step up from the entry-level model.

The F-type S simply fulfils every need for the discerning petrolhead; you get Jaguar quality, stylish looks and amazing performance at a realistic budget.

This F-Type has been owned by our petrolhead owner Trevor who has cared for the car for the past five years, and it still to this day puts a smile on his face every time he drives it, and why wouldn’t it?

What a superb example, and as ever, please ask the owner any questions you may have in the comments below.

This auction listing was written from information supplied by Paul after meeting Trevor the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

The Jaguar is a fantastic car to own and drive - it's perfect for summer, especially when the roof is down.

Trevor, who is a self-confessed petrolhead, purchased the Jaguar 5 years ago and is just the second keeper. The F-Type ticked all the boxes for him when looking for something else to run alongside his other performance cars. Having other vehicles to choose from is a nice position to be in, but it also keeps the mileage relatively low as you can only drive one at a time! This has worked out well for this F-Type, as it has now only covered ~19,079 miles, which of course is certainly low for the age of the vehicle.

Please feel free to ask Trevor any questions in the comments below.

Exterior

Produced in 2013, the F-Type has aged exceptionally well and still looks on point today.

Wheels and Tyres

The wheels have been re-powder coated in gloss black to match the exterior paintwork and are in excellent condition.

Fitted with premium Pirelli tyres, these are in good order and have a good amount of tread remaining.
Please see the image gallery to take a closer look at the wheels.

Bodywork

The Jaguar’s bodywork is in excellent condition; looking around the car, there are no dings or dents to point out. The door shut lines are visually equal and matching, as are the bonnet and boot.

The black soft top roof is also in excellent condition with no marks or damage to point out, and it operates as it should, going up and down quickly.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

Finished in Ultimate Black, the paintwork presents exceptionally well. There are minimal stone chips to mention. The only thing we did notice was a very light scuff on the passenger side of the front bumper. This does look like it may be reduced with a machine polish, but it would be best confirmed by a detailer or paint specialist.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The windows all around look to be in good order, with no noticeable scratches. The headlights and rear lights are all free from any chips or cracks in the lenses, and the external trims for the windows are in good condition, again with no issues, which we could see.

Interior

Camel leather trim is a fantastic colour combination against the Ultimate Black exterior - it's a classic combination that looks stunning.

Seats and Carpets

Electric, heated, extremely comfortable and finished in Camel coloured leather, the seats are in excellent condition, as you would expect for such low mileage.

The carpets and mats are in good condition with no excessive wear to be seen. The door cards are also in good condition with no scuffs or damage.

Please see the interior gallery for more detailed images.

Dashboard

Looking across the dashboard, it is in lovely order. The instruments give a nice needle sweep when you fire up the F-Type and the odometer shows a reading of ~19,079 miles at the time of our visit.

To the centre, the main screen shows the satellite navigation system and a whole host of other goodies to keep you entertained.

Please see the interior gallery for more hi-resolution images.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The leather-bound flat-bottomed steering wheel is in good order as you would expect, and the multifunction controls are working as they should and show little signs of any wear.

For those who prefer some spirited driving, there is the option to change gear via the flappy paddle shifts mounted behind the wheel - a joy to use in the V6 S.

Please see the interior gallery for more detailed images.

Mechanics

The Jaguar 3.0 litre V6 will never be a slouch - but adding a supercharger into the mix is a complete game changer.

Engine and Gearbox

From cold, the F-Type starts up as it should with no hesitation, as seen in our cold start video. Again, everything looks in good order, with no leaks spotted when looking from above or underneath the car.

The gearbox in the Jaguar is fantastic, a smooth change as the car pulls strongly through the gears or for a little more fun, the F1 style paddles work equally as well.

Suspension and Brakes

Being the S model, the suspension has been tweaked to give a slightly sportier ride and a firmer feel. Out on the road, the car handles nicely and delivers everything you could ask for.

The brakes bring the F-Type to a stop in good time with no pulling to either side or juddering coming through the pedal.

The Drive

This car was made to be driven! A well-engineered machine which never fails to disappoint in handling, styling, comfort and performance.

Probably best in the summer months when you can drop the roof and experience the glorious sound from the supercharged V6, enhanced even more with the press of the switchable exhaust button.

Electrics and Other

The Jaguar is well equipped with a reversing camera, sat nav and an excellent Meridian sound system; Trevor reports everything to work as it should.

The only minor thing we noticed was a tiny amount of wear on the start button.

History and Paperwork

Just one previous keeper, servicing records, only ~19,079 miles and was spec'd with £12k of extras - a very smart buy could be had here.

The Jaguar comes with the original handbooks and the original order form for the car shows the ~£12,000 worth of extras fitted to the F-Type S, bringing it to a cost of ~£79,645 when new.

The extras are:
Metallic Paint
20in Cyclone-Black Wheels
Performance Seats
Seat Memory Pack
Camel Seatbelts
Meridian Sounds
Camel Carpet
Dynamic Mode
Sport Steering Wheel
Switchable Exhaust
Carpet Mats
Heated Seats
Dual Zone Climate Control
Valet Mode

There is a printout from Jaguar listing the previous services, and the V5 is present, showing one previous keeper. The car has an MOT which is valid until the 31st July, 2023.

The car is fitted with a personal plate, V2 KBO, and this will be removed prior to collection and its dated plate returned - please allow a little time extra for Trevor to action this.

What a fantastic car to buy, and with such low mileage, it is a snip at the cost from when it was new. Great spec with a whole host of optional extras, the perfect two-seater tourer? We think so.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

Hi,

Yes, a 6% buyers premium, on top of the bid amount. This is detailed each time you place a bid.

Best,

Kulraj – Trade Classics

Lovely looking car but is it usual to get such heavy corrosion to the underside? Looks like it could rust through any time soon on the rear frame members.
