Introduction
Isaac Wass
Sleek, powerful, and refined, the XKR features a 5.0L supercharged V8 and a refreshed design, offering exceptional performance at every turn.
Jaguar is a brand that has produced some brilliant cars, and living up to past heroes is a tough act to follow. The XKR followed the X150 XK models in 2007, with new supercharged engines promising a punchy upgrade without any compromise to its comfort. At the time, it was one of the most powerful cars to leave the Coventry factory.
The manufacturers had also developed the car properly, meaning that the quality of materials, reliability, and finishing were on par with the best. This helped place the XKR firmly among the greats of Browns Lane, which now offers tremendous value for what is arguably one of the most stylish cars of the era.
This car comes to market from ~7 years ownership, and is a facelift which was introduced with minor alterations to the front and rear lights, as well as bumper design, along with a 5.0L V8 under the bonnet. With this being an 'R', a supercharger is also installed. It was optioned with the Warm Charcoal interior, a beautiful shade highlighted by red sporty stitching, which pairs well with the super smart "Ultimate Black" paintwork. A particular highlight of this XKR is the full service history, with recent servicing completed in August 2024.
Some other notable upgrades on this example include: a heated steering wheel; heated front seats; suede headlining; premium Bowers and Wilkins sound system; keyless entry; rear parking camera and stealth pack body styling. The Jaguar is complete with 2 sets of keys, the owners' handbook, leather folio and a current MOT valid until 14.08.2025.
If you're in the market for an XKR coupe, this example deserves a close look.

Hello. Can you tell me where the areas of corrosion were on the bodywork and how much did it cost to correct? Have you had the underside rust treated? Do all electrics including the air conditioning work correctly? Has the car been garaged during your ownership?
Thanks
Hi
Thanks for your questions.
Some paintwork at the bottom of the doors showed signs of oxidising -slight bubbling but no rusting because the bodywork is aluminium- so these areas were resprayed. I cannot find the receipt for this work, it was pre-lockdown, but from memory cost was around £600.
Services have never raised any issue with rust, so no treatment has been done. As far as I’m aware all electrics work as they should. The air con was pressure tested and regassed on 17th September this year. Unfortunately the Jag is too wide to fit into my garage, however when we’ve been away for any break or holiday I’ve been able to put the car in a friend’s garage who lives not too far away.
If you need any more information, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Many thanks
Dave
Thanks Dave
Are there any other areas on the bodywork that are showing the start of corrosion/bubbling? Perhaps around the wing vents etc.
Have you had the water pump or timing chains replaced or any coolant loss experienced?
Bob
Hi Bob
I’d not noticed any areas of paintwork showing any signs of bubbling and the consigner from Trade Classics didn’t either. However, I washed and polished the car at the weekend and did see a couple of very small bubbles next to the off-side wing vent, so need to make you aware of that.
I’ve not experienced any problems with or loss of coolant or oil, and I’m not aware that timing chains or pumps have been changed. That said, at servicing I’ve always said to Chris – founder and principle at Jagutech – to treat the car as he would if was his. So if anything needed changing, just do it. They know Jaguars inside and out whereas I only know how to drive them, and they know the history of the car having serviced it for the last 4 years.
If there is anything else you need to ask, please don’t hesitate.
Dave
