Introduction

Darren Rungasamy
Photographer and Editor

A touch of plushness and practicality in what is undoubtedly a sublime drivers machine.

The Lotus Evora marked a lucrative shift upmarket when the car was unveiled in 2008. It was Lotus' first all-new vehicle since the 1995 Elise, the Evora was designed to go beyond the famous Lotus traits of agility, performance and driver involvement. Targeting the German rivals, the Evora offered a usable and everyday solution with luggage space and refinement.

Noted for its excellent use of space in such a compact frame, the stiff and lightweight aluminium tub provided a rigid frame to allow the car to be developed into a whole new generation of Lotus models. The Evora is powered by the durable 3.5-litre Toyota V6 engine, which propelled the mid-engined 2 seater to 0-60 in 4.8 seconds.

This highly spec'd 2010 Evora in "Solar Yellow" comes to market after ~4.5 years ownership, it has black leather trim and been carefully maintained almost exclusively by Lotus main dealers. Fitted with the Premium and Sports packs, there are 8 service stamps, ~£7,000 worth of invoices and the Silverstone Stage One exhaust system. It comes with its owner's wallet, two keys and an MOT to March 2026.

This listing was written from information supplied by Darren after meeting Harvey the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

I love the handling, looks and sound, and it's also surprisingly comfortable and compliant on rough roads or speed bumps.

Harvey has an enviable history of owning interesting sports cars and has currently found a passion for Lotus cars. Motivated by the sheer driving experience rather than the image and flash that certain other sports cars offer, he has owned it since 2020 and uses it as an occasional driver.

Only used in fair weather and constantly garaged, he is only selling to make way for a newer Lotus Emira. Harvey will be happy to answer any questions about the car in the comments section below.

CONTACT OWNER

Exterior

The presentation of the exterior is very positive as the car has led a charmed life.

Wheels and Tyres

The black twin 5-spoke alloys are neatly presented with just a minor scuff on the rear nearside rim to note, and a smaller scuff on the rear offside rim.

Fitted with a set of Pirelli P-Zero’s, the tyres are all under 5 years old and have show even wear. The rear nearside tyre has a small chunk removed from the rim protector.

Bodywork

The fibreglass body is free of any damage or scuffs. All doors open and close without obstruction and form a decent seal with visually even panel gaps. The underside of the car is covered with an under-tray, with the structure appearing to be solid.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

The "Solar Yellow" paint has a smooth consistent lustre, with just mild swirling caught in the sunshine to the finish. The nose has a few marks and a few paint touch-ups, but otherwise, the finish is positive. We noted a handful of minor scuffs on the roof wrapping.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The glass is in decent order, with good seals. All lights and lenses present positively, with mild signs of age on the headlamp lenses.

There are no issues noted on the body trim. The roof, door mirrors, side skirts and front spoiler are all wrapped in satin black in keeping with the "Sports Racer" model.

Interior

Quality materials and plush fittings make the well-presented and clean interior an inviting prospect.

Seats and Carpets

The leather Recaro sports seats are in good shape with nothing more than minor age-related creases and a few marks on the plastic backs. The carpets display well with just superficial marks.

Dashboard

The dashboard is in good shape, the leather and aluminium facia and centre console look smart, a step up from Lotus in this model. The passenger-side airbag lid looks slightly uneven.

All dials and buttons are in good order and all are said to function as they should. The door cards, headlining and rear trim are above the expectations of a car of this age.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is in good condition, leather wrapped and flat bottommed, it also has controls for cruise control and speed limiter as pictured.

The car is optioned aluminium gear knob, it looks in great condition as pictured.

Mechanics

The tremendous driving experience is made better by this cars solid maintenance history.

Engine and Gearbox

The mid-mounted 3.5-litre Toyota V6 starts without issue and settles down with an even idle. No warning lights or excessive exhaust fumes were noted.

The gearbox operates well, with sweet short shifts and no reported issues with the clutch. Watch the video to see and hear this car in action on the road.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension deals with the uneven roads well, with no thuds or creaks noted. Fitted with drilled brake discs, it stops reassuringly, free of grinding or squeals.

The Drive

The Evora was conceived as a 911 competitor and the use of quality materials and cabin finish reflected this. This resulted in a car that performed and handled well whilst its occupants are in comfort.

This was evident during our test drive, where the car performed faultlessly. Responsive with tactile control, the engine didn’t miss a beat and pulled exceptionally well.

Electrics and Other

Harvey told us all electrics were in working order, as far as he is aware. It has been fitted with the "Premium Pack", which includes the leather trim and reversing camera. The car also has the "Sports Pack" which includes the drilled brake discs and "Sport" button. It was also ordered new with a Silverstone Stage One exhaust system.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market from ~4.5 years ownership, the car is well specc'd with both the Sports & Premium option packs, and there are ~£7,000 worth of invoices, a great service history and an MOT to March 2026.

Coming to market after 4 and a half years with Harvey, It was registered by Lotus in November 2010 and comes with 8 Lotus service stamps and one independent service. Amongst the £7,000 worth of invoices from Bell and Colvill and PJS Sports Cars, there are receipts for brakes, rear gas struts, a new clutch kit, an air-con regas, a new auxiliary belt and starter motor in 2020 and a new wheel speed sensor in 2019.

Sold with its complete owner's wallet and service book, it was last serviced around 1000 miles ago. It comes with two keys and a MOT to March 2026. Please note that the car will be sold with its original registration plate (AU60 DXM).

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment of the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bids, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price that the seller will let the car go for. We work with sellers to set realistic reserves in line with market pricing – we don’t take on vehicles with unrealistic pricing. Reserve met / not met labeling may or may not be announced during the auction – this is just like a traditional auction house, i.e. bidders may only know when they’ve been successful at the end of the auction.

If the reserve hasn’t been met at the end of the auction then we work with the highest bidder to try to work out a deal with the seller.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.
