Introduction
Glyn Parry
One of the first models released under the ownership of Ferrari, the 4200GT was the perfect mix of Italian styling and performance from two of the biggest players in Italy.
The 4200 GT was released to the public in 2001 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The first model unveiled was the Spyder, with the coupe following on at the Detroit Auto Show in 2002. Both models were based on the earlier 3200GT.
The Coupe is a four seater model whereas the Spyder, such as the one we have here, is a 2 seater convertible grand tourer. The roof stows away in around 30 seconds under a hard cover which sits flush with the bodywork, giving a smooth sleek finish.
As you would expect, the Ferrari / Maserati designed F136 V8 is a fantastic engine to power the Spyder along. That, coupled with the F1 style gearbox, makes the car a true joy to drive.
A lovely Maserati ready for the road with a recent service, and MOT carried out on the 5th August 2021, means that the new owner can enjoy putting some miles on this Italian modern classic.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Chris the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Is the car registered as a category D Write Off ?
Hi, yes it has. I put it into a curb and sustained minor damage but due to the long wait for parts from Ferrari they agreed to write it off and I bought it back. There’s a pic of the damage.
Hi, yes it has hence the price, I put it into a curb and sustained minor damage but due to the long wait for parts from Ferrari they agreed to write it off and I bought it back. There’s a pic of the damage. I’ve driven it happily for 5 years since.
It’s definately recorded on the hpi check
The MOT advises ‘offside front inner sill has corrosion’ but I couldn’t see this. Could you provide a picture of this or say some more about it please?
Hi, Chris has supplied some extra pictures of that area so that you can see it. We’ve added those to the end of the mechanical area gallery; https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/maserati/2002-maserati-spyder-cambiocorsa/#gallery3-78 Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
