Introduction

Mr Lee
Vehicle Owner

The Gransport is an upgraded sports model of their 4200GT.

Breaking a 20-year cycle of twin-turbocharged induction approach to their engines, Maserati installed a beautiful sounding naturally-aspirated 4.2L Ferrari/Maserati F136 R V8 with tuning upgrades primarily on the exhaust and intake manifolds. The Gransport also features improved aerodynamics, retuned suspension, transmission, and a sportier interior with carbon fibre in some areas.

This auction listing was written from information supplied by Mr Lee through a self-consignment process.

Meet the owner

The car has enjoyed a mostly garaged life with Mr Lee after being imported to the UK from Hong Kong in 2017.

Mr Lee has a passion for all cars but is realising he does not have as much parking space as before, hence putting this beautiful car up for sale.

This leads to the fact that the car has been kept in excellent condition after being maintained meticulously with established specialists in Hong Kong. Having a number of cars in Matin’s ownership, he is looking to offload this beautiful Italian car that will give a new owner an exciting driving experience.

Mr Lee will provide the car with a fresh MOT before the purchase is completed.

CONTACT OWNER

Exterior

The Blu Mediterraneo exterior of this car presents itself nicely with the rich blue paintwork. This proves to be a true testament to the superb level of care and attention that this vehicle has had throughout its life.

Wheels and Tyres

The car is fitted with excellent condition Maserati wheels that contrast beautifully with the paintwork.

The car sits on Michelin’s Pilot Super Sport tyres that maintain excellent condition tread that are 2 years old with profiles of 235/35/19.

Bodywork

This has a true Italian style that only they themselves could accomplish. It’s a true head-turner, with its Giugiaro penned lines and aggressive stance, giving everyone an eyeful as the Maserati drives past.

The car maintains excellent condition across the exterior with no signs of bumps. Frank Stephenson, as newly appointed Director of Ferrari-Maserati Concept Design and Development, provided the car with a refreshment of design with improvements in aerodynamics.

Paint

The Blu Mediterraneo paint is even across the car and looks beautiful on a sunny day, please watch our ‘Exterior Review’ video.

There is a small area where the lacquer has come off on the nearside door panel below the window’s trim.

Glass and Trim

The glass is in excellent condition whilst the trim has some changes in colour from the Hong Kong climate that can be remedied by the new owner.

Interior

The interior is really beautiful – having been luxuriously refurbished from its 4200GT counterpart. Mixing navy leather with dark navy alcantara inserts, along with tasteful carbon fibre additions, the team accomplished a perfect blend of comfort and a sense of excitement as you sit yourself in the driver’s seat. Please watch the ‘Interior Review’ video as Mr Lee let’s us take a look into the Italian luxury of the car.

Seats and Carpets

The leather seats are in good condition and truly reflect the low 25,000 miles that it has covered.

They are electrically operated, which allows the driver to find the perfect driving position for any journey.

Dashboard

The leather dashboard maintains excellent condition with all controls in ergonomic reach of the driver.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Both are in excellent condition with no issues.

The Carbon fibre inlays on the steering wheel alert the driver that what they are driving is a thoroughbred Italian supercar.

Mechanics

This car is a true thoroughbred Italian sports car with supercar features with incredible character. As we can see by the photos, videos and history that documents the repairs and maintenance on the car, we can tell that this is a superb example the new owner can enjoy right away. Please watch our ‘Engine Review’ video as Mr Lee films himself starting the car after some time sitting cold in the garage.

Engine and Gearbox

The Ferrari F136 engine has impressive statistics. With 395hp at 7,000 rpm and a top speed of 180mph that accelerates 0-60 in just 4.8 seconds. As you can see in the video the car starts with a resonant growl that then precedes into smooth tick-over.

Suspension and Brakes

The brakes seem to have been maintained well judging by the photos whilst we are assured that the suspension is healthy and does not cause any unwanted noise whilst driving.

The Drive

The F1 style six-speed Cambiocorsa paddle-shift transmission proves to be a great companion for the engine, its changes are precise and crisp as you shift through the gears and enjoy the orchestra of V8 exhaust note from idle to the very top of the rev limiter.

Electrics and Other

All lights on the exterior and dashboard seem to be working well. Mr Lee shows us that the electronic seats function well in the ‘Interior Review’ video.

History and Paperwork

A car of this stature must be meticulously maintained with no expense spared. This car enjoyed a pampered life in Hong Kong, boasting full-service history under the ownership with the previous owner, before being serviced at the highly-established Autoficcina upon shipping.

Over in the UK, the car enjoys a garaged life. Having been in Asia for 11 years before import in 2017, the car enjoyed a warm climate, assuring the lack of rust or paint blisters typically seen on many UK cars.

The current indicated mileage is circa 25,000 miles (39,000km).
