Introduction
Paul Wright
The SL model range has evolved over the years - producing some of the most beautiful looking Mercedes-Benz to date.
Originally launched way back in 1954, the SL was a two-seater roadster which has grown in popularity to become one of the most iconic models in Mercedes-Benz history, providing the perfect mixture of performance and luxury. Over the years the cars were available as a soft top convertible, then moving forward with the addition of a removable hardtop as well. This was a good idea and perfect for the winter months with the hardtop making it more like a normal bodied car, although it was a two person job to lift off and refit the roof.
In 2002, Mercedes stepped up the game with the R230 SL, with a whole host of technological wizardry added to the grand tourer. One of the main changes was the fully convertible hardtop roof at the touch of a single button. You could be sitting at the traffic lights and within 16-20 seconds the roof would be down ready to enjoy the sunshine. This main feature alone proved a huge selling point for the luxurious German two-seater roadster.
Glennys has enjoyed the luxury and performance of the SL350 for a couple of years now, and with it getting very little use over the pandemic, it has been decided that it makes more financial sense to part with it rather than have it sitting not being used.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Paul after meeting Glennys the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

As I was told when I purchased the car it was run into at the back n/s corner as it was parked in traffic, it was body damage only and no mechanical.
Like I said it’s what I was told but I don’t have any photos to show, trust this is a help.
Thanks for the confirmation on road tax, and apologies for all the questions. Is it possible to come and see the car before the auctions ends? Thank you

Yes the service history is with the car and its on the web site here for you to look through, thanks
Is it definitely a cat d insurance registered as this might indicate a insurance write off and could increase cost of insurance. Have you any more details of damage it suffered
I don’t have anything more on the bump the car had as I bought it after it was repaired but all I can say is I have had no problem with the car getting it insured.
The damage was to the rear as stated and as I was told it was only Bodley damage with no mechanical damage, sorry I cannot inlighten you any more as I don’t know
