Introduction
Alan Stuart
The perfect balance of performance, economy and luxury, a stalwart in the modern Mercedes-Benz lineup.
The (A207) Cabriolet is the fourth-generation E-Class, first unveiled in 2010. The model replaced the CLK-Class and is based on the W204 C-Class platform, however shares much more with the E-Class in terms of features and space. Mercedes produced an elegant and refined luxury four-seater convertible, with one of the most advanced acoustically tuned quick-folding fabric roofs of its time, with an advanced AirCap system which prevents buffeting at high speed when the roof is down.
The E200 CGI is powered by a turbocharged 1.8L which offers performance and economy. The E200 gives the driver 184BHP to tap into. With its five-speed auto box, and with a top speed of 143MPH, this car can move.
Anne purchased this car in 2015 from the Mercedes-Benz main dealer but has added little mileage. Due to a manufacturer recall, the car benefits from fresh paint having been completely resprayed in its original and vibrant Fire Opel paint, which pairs very well with its all-leather Almond Beige interior. With W124 cabriolets firmly in the classic camp, will we think the same about the W212 in the future?

The bright red colour mercedes cars were recalled to check all paintwork because some had a small dot marks appearing on the bonnet area. There was nothing major on my car, but I wanted them to take it in to check and do whatever might be necessary for the future benefit of the car. As you can see the car has been extremely well maintained and all paintwork shines when cleaned and looks amazing for its age. In fact almost new and only driven by me and my husband. The trade classic expert who did the video and tested the car said he was very impressed with how good it was! It has been cherished, well looked after and still looks great.
Hi, what was rather reason for a full reseat in 2018, it says because of a recall but why was it necessary? Thanks
Hi AnneH,
Was the car in an accident? There seem to be some large scratch marks on the rear bumper and a gap between the bumper and the driver side quarter panel.
Also, are there any signs of water leaking in the boot or in the car?
Thanks
No. There are no large scratch marks on any of the body work, or any water leaking in the boot, you can clarify all this by asking the trade classic expert who viewed the car. The paintwork is in excellent condition as stated in the review words.
Hi,
Thanks for confirming that there’s no water leaking in the boot. Regarding the scratch marks, you can see them on picture 113 of the exterior photos right under the parking sensor and the gap between the bumper cover and the quarter panel can be seen on picture 109 right above a small dent/scratch.
Could you please provide the contact details of the trade classic expert who viewed the car?
Thanks in advance
Hi Amir79, I can see what you are referring to now, it looks like these are parking dents on the rear bumper in the a couple of locations that we didn’t spot, rather than “accident” damage; https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/mercedes/2010-mercedes-e-class-e200/#gallery1-109 , also https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/mercedes/2010-mercedes-e-class-e200/#gallery1-116 Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
